I don't know, but I wish they wouldn't. It's confusion of thought. I'm a Christian biologist who accepts evolution, and I'm certainly not an atheist.

(this is my opinion) Almost all brands of faith have a creation story. In the Creation story, the Creator creates ALL, usual in a fixerd time perioid, for Xian, Jews, and Mohammedists, this is described in the first book of the older testament, Genesis. In genesis this all took a week, 7 days. The notion that ALL (animals, dinosaurs, trees) got here at different times and by other means the Creator's DIRECT actions, contradicts the Creation mythology. I guess its human nature to freely associate unbecoming traits to those people who have a message separate from their spirtitual beliefs.
In a more sacrosant view, the leaders of spiritual movements need to sermonize, evolution is a very easy topic to sermonize on, associating ills of modern society with science
But like I started with, its just my opinion

Because there are those that think that if you believe in evolution of life that you can't believe in God. Those people are just sure that God created each living thing at the beginning of time just the way it appears now with no changes. I believe that science has proved evolution of species exists and I also believe that it's one of the natural laws of our Creator. I don't see where the big problem with science and religion is.

Because they see the world in black and white. Either you are a good Christian who believes in the literal Bible or you are a damn atheist evolutionist who should rot in the pits of Hell ;).

I find the most interesting combination is those who take the Bible as God's way of describing complex things (evolution, big bang, etc.) in a simple way until we could find the real reasons ourselves. So the Bible says "Let there be light" instead of "In the beginning there was but a single point and blah blah blah."

They are ignorant of evolution and atheism.

Because they are simple minded. Creationists seem to think that disproving evolution is the same thing as proving Jesus died for their sins. It's crazy.

Maybe because we are such a "right or wrong", "good or evil" society. I do not think that creationism and evolution have to be considered mutually exclusive.

People suck thats why. Some people only see black and white, with no gray areas. Alot of people are ignorant to other peoples views and beliefs. To them it is either their way orno way at all. Those people are what is wrong with this world.
