why is there suffernig?

Because people are selfish. Mankind wants what he wants and it doesn't matter who gets hurt in order for him to get it. the world is infected with the yuppie slogan "I got mine, you get yours".

when was the last time you were more concerned about someone you didn't know or how you treated them? in the world it enough to look like you care, and as long as it does not require Self sacrifice it good to care.

in a very practical way it because we are selfish at heart. its human nature to think of numro uno! Self!

this is why Jesus Came so we could be free of this Selfish nature. Its a choice though! God wants to Love on you and Save you from the sufferings of this world and the next.

By the way there are some of us who live life to be better than the world and treat people with respect because God redeemed us. We want you to have the same wholeness and peace.

Hindu view - because we deny the fact that humans are all part of the same being. Once we realize that we are all part of God and God is in us, we learn to overcome suffering. Our bodies may still undergo pain, but emotionally and mentally we will not. I experienced this myself when my father was taken to the hospital. My family was panicing but I was calm, and not even worried. I took care of everything, and in the end he was ok. Because I knew I had God with me, I was able to look at things rationally and not let it affect me.

Also, suffering is the result of having material things. Once we learn to live without the material, we can forgo suffering.

Suffering happens for many reasons. Some suffer by choice. They enjoy being miserable. Some suffer because of the evil of others. God gave us free will. We are free to be good or evil and sometimes the paths cross. Some suffering is natural (child bith, illnesses, etc...). All a part of life.

Because Satan wanted to prove that he should be worshiped instead of God, so he instituted a different form of government, one that is the exact opposite of Gods government, and because Gods is based on love, and free will, Satan's is based on hate, and force. It is just as simple as that.

The best way to help someone else is to have been through that situation yourself. Not to say we can't reach out even if we haven't experience something. Suffering experienced personally makes us more compassionate to others and not just living for ourselves.

We create our own suffering, and the suffering of those around us, when we rebel against Gods will.

Pain is essential in order to feel pleasure. And evil is needed in order to appreciate good. There is order in chaos, and chaos in order.
