Well the first thing you need to do is keep supporting her . I'll give you a pat on the back right now. You abviously raised your daughter in a manor that she feels she can talk to you about anything and that is great, so many of us didn't have that. Let her know that you love her and are on her side then before you starte mentioning surgery take a few giant steps backwards and start with a good theropist. It may be as simple as her being a lesbian and not knowing how to come out. Find her (and the family) a good supportive doctor and go from there..................if indeed gender change is in order that will be many , many , theropy sessions later. Remember keep loving her........she's very lucky
And if supported can have a great loving life whenher she is lesbian or transgender or just a young lady with some issues that she needs to work out. Thank u for being a great mom.

Best of Luck
Bri

I knew a man that wanted to become a woman. He went to the doctor and had to pass a series of tests overtime before he could have the surgery.

What did the doctor say?

I would also take her to a therapist and insist that she be in therapy for a period of time to be certain that this is trully what she wants.

She is very young to make such a major life decision.

I do think it is very important to take her feelings seriously and be supportive of her feelings.

Make it safe for her to talk to you about this issue and never judge her.
