He needs antibiotics, ASAP. He may need to have it drained as well. Boils can not be cured with over-the-counter preparations or herbal remedies. Warm compresses may help it come to a head and drain quicker.

Garlic. Its the best thing I've learned so far that cures them, its because of its strong antibiotic properties. You see the problem with prescribed antibiotics is that you can build up a tolerance, with garlic being natural, it will work the same way every time. Try crushing a garlic clove and a 1/4 of an onion and applying the juice to the boil. If you want another way that may work very well too is to go to your local drug store and get a bottle of teatree oil. Apply either of these to it twice a day, once before bed and once in the morning to help the boil heal. Are you sure its a boil? Not trying to say your wrong, but my fiance has a lot of hair, and sometimes its just ingrown hair. The best thing for that is a sterile needle and some trust. If he lets you, gently open the spot (Only if your pretty sure it could be a hair) and lift out the hair, then squeeze out the remaining puss and clean with peroxide. Good luck and I hope your honey feels better!

I got this home remedy from a nurse. It really works. Take a piece of white sandwich bread minus the crust. Put milk on the bread and put it on the boil and cover with a bandage or tape for about a week. Do not take off early. It should pull the gunk out. If its not totally out recover for a little longer. Good Luck!

There's a salve called I believe "drawing salve" that you put on a boil and it makes the inner infected core come out.
Go to a pharmacist and ask them.

Sounds silly, but try ProActive. I did and it really helps, makes your skin a bit oily, but is worth it. Now I take minocycline and it clears me up no problem. Ask your doctor to recomend something. It's not that expensive (30-40 bucks) and your friend won't regret it!!

Go to the doctor and have it lanced. If it keeps coming back could be the sign of something more serious

Magnesium from the the chemist, draws the infection out. Othterwise go to your doctor and he/she will probably prescribe you antibiotics. Don't try and lance it yourself or it may scar.
