Yes, many cows are very protective of their young. There are many injuries that occur when ranchers and cowboys are trying to handle calves due to the cow getting upset. Some breeds of continental cattle such as the Chianina can be upwards of 2,000 pounds at maturity.
The bulls can be even more mean. There are several instances where Chianina bulls have killed people and not from bull riding.

If by cow, you mean any bovine type critter, yes it is possible. Bull riders have one of the most dangerous jobs around. Many have been killed by a bull. (Lane Frost was a famous bull rider who was killed by one.) A cow (or female) is capable of killing you, but most of the time will back off if you come at them. Sometimes they don't back down if they think you're trying to hurt their calf but those occasions are rare. A grown cow weighs more than 1000 lbs. and has a powerful neck and legs. If they get you down you can be hurt seriously. But most of the time all you have to do is holler at them and they'll leave you alone. I walk around in our cow herd all the time and they don't bother me.

Absolutely. You know those great big hurling masses with horns that cowboys ride at rodeos? Bulls, aka boy cows (or cattle). Plus, anyone who has had to milk a cow can tell you that the girls can do serious damage if you get in striking range, too. Mostly, though, domestic cows are harmless.

If the cow mysteriously became insane an attack you, yeah it can kill you. However, this scenario rarely occur. The most probable way that a cow can kill you is through the Mad Cow disease.

Sure can. If the cow sits on you. Or if the cow was drinking poison, knowing he'd soon be dinner.
