The tale I've also been told is that it started as a virus from monkeys. Because human DNA and monkey DNS are similar, it mutated and became a human issue too.
I don't beleive that however, so I looked up an article on Wikipedia for you. Hopefully that'll give me info! (It doesn't mention a how but rather a where of it's rumored start)

It was a disease only in monkeys in Africa, it mutated into a form that became able to infect the humans. It was more than likely first transmitted through someone eating monkey meat that had the new strain in it. Not from monkey sex.

This is the latest speculation...
HIV is a mutated form of a virus called SIVcpz (Simian Immunodeficiency Virus) which infects chimpanzees. People hunting chimps acquired this virus which mutated in order to adapt to its new hosts. This most likely occurred about 75 years ago.
I can assure you that the development of HIV as we know it had absolutely nothing to do with human-primate intercourse. These people are very sad, confused individuals.

It is believed to have developed/mutated in the 1950s or earlier in non-human primates in Africa.
There are millions of viruses out there, but we only hear about them when they change to a form that can harm or kill plants, animals, or people.
The AIDS virus is particularly difficult to deal with due to its mechanisms and its ability to mutate.

A homosexual airline attendent screwed a monkey. Due to his job he got around. He had a group of four buddies in America which I believe to be in Virgina were noted to have an odd illness. Thus the creation of patient zero.

There are many theories I've heard, but I've never heard where it actually came from for sure. But the only thing I can remember that makes any sense at all (because I don't think disease come out of nowhere) is from apes/monkeys. Bestiality is a NO-NO.

They just recently discovered that it came from primates. Bestiality was my first thought, but they think it came from either someone being bitten by an infected animal, or them eating one.
But then how did the animal get it?

I believe it was a type of primate virus that mutated into human form thus allowing to to be spread from human to human.
