to bartend in vegas on the strip you have to either bartend at a non union property or be an apprentice for 1 year and do a years worth of classes on beer, wine, spirits, and product knowledge. a non union property will hire and fire you based on looks, ****, and your ability to get the brown off your nose before the customer sees you were in the back room kissing your bosses ***.local places pay the same as any local place any where. at casinos there is an extra board which is a list of extra people who do not have a permanate shift yet. this is where you will start. if you cant tell me whats in a side car or a negroni, your out of your league. union apprentices start about 10.75 hour plus what their bartender tips them out. bartenders make well over 15 plus tips.you have to continue to educate yourself about scotches, cognacs, distillation methods and location, along with wine and drink tastings.THIS IS A CAREER, NOT A SUMMER JOB! so if you think you have what it takes I'll see you at the next international bartenders guild's drink competition. or at the next flair competition. (flair is "juggling and s**t")

To work in Vegas you'd probably have to go to a bartending school unless you are already experienced, Wages would depend on experience, but the main money that bartenders make is in tips.

I bartend in Baltimore city on Wednesday nights. I just started, so I get the worst night of the week in the least crowded bar in the world. Last week I made $50 for seven hours of work. Good luck with that, buddy.

I used to be a bartender in Denver, CO and made almost $300-$350 a night and worked 4 nights a week, plus $9.00/hr.
Some nights $400! I made really good money, but you have to be really good too! Lots of confidence and know every drink under the sun!

your best bet , if experienced, would be in a casino bar. One that is situated in the middle of the casino. I loved going to the one in Mandalay Bay after work (I worked in the chocolate swan), we would drink for hours and give all our tips to the bartender.
