Must of the Dermatologist say so.. I was in a very delicate Acne treatment with one and he always said that nothing is better than pure fresh water in the face skin...

Yes, here's why... All of the cells in your body need water to function properly. This is because most of your body is an aqueous environment. When your body does not have enough water, your body redirects water to the most important parts first. Your kidneys get water first... your skin is last. So, if you're not fully hydrated, while your body may still be functioning ok, your skin is not receiving the water it needs to function properly. This can lead to early aging, dryness (without enough water skin cells die), and susceptibility to skin infections. For more info check out www.watercure.com. Some of the info is a little iffy, but most of it's good.

What people say that? TV commercials for products? And they always tell the truth, right?

The skin needs to be supple, so it needs moisture, but water does not penetrate the outside layer of skin, which is made up of dead skin cells. The dead cells will absorb water to some extent, which is one reason your fingers get that ripple look if you are in the water for too long. See if the rest of your skin has that look.

The skin actually produces an oil that makes it water-repellent, but you can remove it in areas like fingertips if you stay in the water too long.

"Moisturizers" are generally chemicals to keep the outside skin cells supple without water, and they wear off or wash off and leave your skin dryer than normal. Drink enough fluids and eat a good diet and avoid skin diseases.

Water is a basic part of life. Sixty-five percent of body weight is water. Water keeps the moisture in the body, transports oxygen to blood, and helps carry nutrients through blood. Typically a person needs to drink six to eight 8-ounce glasses of fluid per day, plus one 8-ounce cup for each hour of light activity.
When choosing water over other drinks, you get zero calories, and water quenches your thirst better than anything else. Plus it helps keep your body cool in the summertime heat.
Drinking a proper amount of water has many benefits. First, you will have a clearer complexion. Your skin will be more soft and supple. It keeps the moisture in the body, including skin and eyes.
Second, you’ll have stronger, healthier teeth and bones because of the added fluoride in most water supplies.
Third, drinking water helps maintain regular bowel and urinary functions. Many people complain when they start drinking more water that they have to run to the bathroom more often. However, keeping a healthy digestive system far outweighs the momentary inconvenience of extra bathroom trips.
Fourth, drinking extra water can help you maintain a healthy weight. Your body requires adequate water to metabolize properly, and thus to maintain a healthy weight.

Absolutely. Well, since the human body, including the skin, is over 60% water, it likes it when you stay hydrated. Also, during weight loss, drinking a lot of water helps your skin tighten up again.

Water rehydrates you.
However......

"Hanover, NH -- It has become accepted wisdom: "Drink at least eight glasses of water a day!" Not necessarily, says DMS physician Heinz Valtin, MD. The universal advice that has made guzzling water a national pastime is more urban myth than medical dogma and appears to lack scientific proof, he found".

yes it is because it keeps your skin moisturized so it's not all dried out. It's good for your skin to drink water...but it's also good for your skin to be in water sometimes, like swimming or taking baths or showers.
