If you never have played before, take some lessons before trying to go out to a course. Driving ranges are good places to start and often offer inexpecive lessons. Also, the first time you go to a real golf course remember other golfers get cranky over people who take too long, so take lots of inexpensive balls. If you loss one, look for it for a second or two but then drop another quickly and go on... That's why they sell 12 at a time. It's part of the cost of the game and everyone losses balls.

The most important:The distant between yourself and golf ball during setup. I spend extra 10 seconds checking the golf ball's position before taking shot.

Keep your head down untill after you have struck the ball. With your irons strike the ball before the ground. Swing slower untill you start making solid contact then start increasing your swing speed. I started two years ago so i know how frustrating golf is. Atleast you can drink beer while you play!

If your like me and you don't have a lot of time to play, the best thing to do is when you can find time to practice, don't race to the driving range and start ripping drivers and smacking ball as hard as you can, what you should be doing is working more on the short game, wedges, putting, chipping, just working more on the areas that people miss more shots on and could save themselves more strokes and lower there scores.

Learn to chip and putt first. You DON'T have to hit it like a gorilla. Ditto the beer!!! Don't think just swing. Toast back "keep your head down after you swing." You can't hit the ball if you don't see it. PLAY!!!!!
