You coud try getting donations from neighbors and having a big garage sale. You can do that on your own by asking neighbors if they have anything they'd like to get rid of - you can pick it up yourself and then have the sale when your mother is there. There are a lot of people who have a few items they don't want, but not enough for a garage sale. They might be more than happy to give them to you to sell!
And I'm sure you can't make that much money from just one sale, but perhaps you could have one every weekend for a while until you make enough.
Good luck!
And to all the other answerers who are giving ridiculous answers like "sell drugs," that is just rude. If this truly is an 11-year-old asking for help, then we should be supportive and offer helpful advice, not be demeaning and immature. Asking for help/money is not illegal - and doesn't have to be for a charity - anyone can ask for help, as long as it is stated what it is for.
As for moving to California - there are many places in California that are NOT expensive and are, in fact, less expensive than many places around the country. Never was it mentioned that they are moving to Beverly Hills or Laguna Beach!

Host a fundraiser dinner - you and your mom can cook something cheap to buy and prepare but good, and invite your neighbors and friends for $10 a plate. You will not get all the money you need, but it could be a start. Think of it as raising just a few dollars at a time.

Sell interesting things on EBay. Someone just tried to sell a box with Ben Rothlesbergers helmet in it.....it was an empty box!
Find something with the resembelence of Jesus's figure/face on it and sell that. I've seen stupid things like a moldy shower wall and a piece of toast go for thousands of dollars.
You could also play the lottery but I wouldn't put much into it...you'll just end up futher in the hole. Good luck to the two of you.

You need to move to California? When your mother has a job? And this is an "important cause?" You have a really strange idea of what an important cause is.

You can't ask people for money unless it is truly for charity. My suggestion is start selling things you don't need on ebay and save, save, save. Stop newspaper delivery, extras on phone, eating out, etc. Then put the money you would have used for that towards the move. California is very expensive - why do you HAVE to move here?

Try having a car wash, help walk dogs, etc. It'll be VERY hard to raise $6000. You can also ask friends to help out, whether it is through donations or going around trying to sell things.

Well, i would say have a yard sale, and maybe have a car wash too. Or if you have things you can sell/pawn that could bring in a little extra cash. Hope i have helped, and i hope you do ok.

Get a ski mask and a pistol and pay a visit to your local bank for a cash withdrawal. Good luck!
