by remedies do you mean home remedies... yes sometimes they work and sometimes they dont. The effect are quite varied. You should seek professional advice of a doctor. Over anxiety can lead to worse health problem and if let unattended for too long can cause death... its true

It depends on what you mean by "remedies" ??

It's always better to find a natural substance that can help rather than medication. Pills aren't magic, they all have side effects and you end up needing more pills to fix the side effects from those first pills.

For anxiety - several things work very well.

1) Exercise. Sounds dumb but it's proven. When you exercise you get more seratonin on the brain and you feel happy. Doesn't have to be super strenuous. Go out and walk briskly for 20 minutes. Listening to your favorite music while you walk is nice too.

2) Make sure you're taking a complete vitamin and mineral supplement. One from a natural food store is best - a collodial mineral is the most easily absorbed.

3) Don't drink caffeine or take stuff that creates anxiety - like no ginseng or other stimulants - very little or no sugar.

4) Sip some chamomile tea with honey and take extra magnesium - both known for their calming effects.

Good Luck,

Remedies do one of two things: 1) treat the symptom (i.e. anxiety) or 2) treat the source/cause of the disorder.

You need to identify the cause of your anxiety, and then pills will only help if it's a medical problem, or if the cause of your anxiety is temporary, in which case your remedy will aid you in coping with the problem until it resolves on its own.

Common medications (prescriptions) for anxiety include ativan (lorazepam) and Valium (diazepam). All medications have side effects that may be undesirable (the above cause CNS depression and a decrease in GI motility).

Chamomile tea, St. John's Wort, and relaxation techniques will help for mild anxiety. If anxiety is caused by a traumatic or life changing event, medication is typically coupled with psychotherapy.

Essentially, you must identify the cause of your anxiety and treat it accordingly. Try to build a support group and discuss your feelings of anxiousness daily with someone you trust.

Yes. Remedies are supposed to help you. If you don't feel any less anxious then perhaps the remedies are not working, or if they are "working" they are not working correctly. It is probably best if you go see a doctor (preferably the doctor who prescribed those pills for you, if you got those remedies from prescription). If you are stressed, it is probably best that you take a break and rest and relax, maybe take a vacation. I hope you feel better!

Go to a doctor, preferably a psychiatrist so he can medicate you the proper meds for your anxiety... Usually your primary doctor will be able to recommned some meds but a psychiatrist its the better option as they are well trained in the mental health field and are aware and up to date w/ the latest antidepressants and anxiety disorders meds.

Humm, I would talk to your doctor, but other than that, if you don't notice a difference after maybe 7 days or so, yeah I would assume you should take different pills.

some home remedies are just plecibos to where you think its helping and your body actually fixes it self. Although some rememdies do actually work, it might just be that ur remedy isnt working for u
