For me DLP is the best becasue you can get a large TV with almost the same quality as plasma for less $. Also, you can play video games on DLP simply becasue it's like a souped-up projection TV. Also, one down fall for plasma is you have to refill the plasma every 5-7 years, and that costs money. My opinion, go with the DLP, that's what I got and it's awsome!

Both LCD TVs and plasma TVs are thin as you could hope for. In screen size plasmas usually run larger though don’t usually come in smaller sizes, which is sometimes needed. Plasma have a wider viewing angle. Both have good lifespan. However, plasma sometimes suffers from “burn in” effect. LCD TVs are sometimes susceptible to a delay that causes the outline of figures or objects to appear jagged. LCD TVs are renowned for a sharp picture and vibrant color. Plasma TVs are known for a wide range of colors and accurate color reproduction. LCD TVs are said to do slightly better in bright-light conditions. Plasma TVs generally produce very black blacks whereas an LCD TV will produce a very dark charcoal gray. Plasma TVs, technically, are said to have greater contrast levels.

I personally bought a projector to get the best picture on the largest screen for the lowest cost (... plus I can take it out to my pool for JAWS-watching pool parties ... heh heh)

If you're planning to buy more than 29 inches then nothing beats plasma tv in terms of quality and features but costly. Lower than 29", you can buy LCD but select the latest model manufactured within this year because the contrast and bright ness is more enhanced than the previous models (select high contrast and brightness value - make comparison). But if your budget is less then go for a flat screen CRT TV. You will surely get bored if I explain to you the technical comparisons of these TV.

LCD would be your best choice for economy. Acceptable in my view. Much better than the older projection TV's where viewing at an angle would be subject to much glare and reflections.
Plasma would be second (economically), but these run hot and long term reliability could be a problem.
DLP - You get what you pay for. The best performance at the highest price.
