I don't know how long it would take to recover physically, but I do know that right now, mentally, you are way past the able to recover stage.

This is not something to play around with first of all and yes it can kill you. It depends on a number of things..how healthy your immune system is and your weight just to name a couple. Recovering from the counter effects would more than likely take longer than the actual recovery from the pills. i work in icu and typically with people that overdose-we have to put them in a medication induced coma-which means you have a breathing tube put in and your paralyzed on purpose with medication to keep you from injuring yourself. depending on how long you're in icu-you run the risk of getting infection from not moving for weeks at a time and have a tube down your throat into your lungs. You can also have long lasting brain damage due to the drug overdose. you will also face months of psychiatric treatment. xanax is used to sedate or calm someone down and if taken with alcohol-it lowers your blood pressure to dangerous levels and also slows down your heart and breathing rates. please seek professional help if you are considering this-most people survive a drug overdose but end up needing months of care due to the side effects of either the pills or from being in the hospital exposed to other germs

Don't be stupid. You're actually considering overdosing plus adding alcohol to the equation? You should love yourself more than that. Do you want to die? That's what happens to a lot of people who overdose, so you may not have to worry about recovering at all! Take care of your body, you don't get another one in this life. If you don't die, you may have to get your stomach pumped and that's no fun either. I'm praying for you as you're reading this. God bless you.

I'll answer you question with a question. Why do you want to die? Xanax and alcohol will kill you. You may recover to be brain injured, just as with huffing chemicals. I don't understand why young people don't care more about themselves. I hope you will not overdose on any medications and alcohol. If you are considering it, get help.

Xanax isn't harmful a really at all to the body, you'll just feel really good. ODing on Xanax won't do much to kill you, sorry :( The alchohol mixed with the pills will just give you a REALLY bad hang-over!
DO NOT LISTEN TO THIS GUY!! Xanax(and valium) CAN kill you especially when mixed with alcohol if you take too much, I know this for a fact because my friends brother died from it

Why would you ask such a question if suicide was not on your mind? It doesn't matter the times you do this, because it may kill you the first time. You need to seek help at a mental health hot line or a suicide hot line. What ever seems overwhelming now can mean little if anything in a few years. I have known several people (nurse in social work) that tried suicide unsuccessfully and had to live with the aftermath. (face partially gone, retardation, burns over 50 % of their body, etc). Please seek help. Your cry for attention is being heard, now love yourself and God enough to seek help.

I read your question and I was pulled to answer with this answer.I really don't know the answer to that question.I overdosed with over the counter sleeping pills.I took 300 pills. When someone found me it had been over 13 hours. It was on a Monday evening and Tuesday evening my mother found me.I came out of it later that evening. My brothers was around me asking questions of what kind of pills I took.I didn't tell them what kind.Evil had more power over me.I stayed week in the hospital and one month to recover. Now 5 yrs later it wasn't worth it. Please don't do it. You will be hurting yourself and the ones who love you, even though you may not feel they love you.Find a spiritual person and ask for a healing and free yourself of the evil one.He doesn't want to see you happy in life. Seek inside yourself and you are a good person.I don't know who you are,but I will pray for you.HE knows who you are.Even if this is a hypothetically question, the damage to your body and mind and spirit takes time. God Bless You!!

If you take xanax and are not prescibed to them you can have seizures, you can overdose and never recover, and yeah you can die.. The only way to recover is to get to the hospital fast enough for them to pump your stomach.. I am prescibed to xanax, and let me tell you ..... If you're taking these to get "high" STOP!!! They are highly addicting.. I have to take them for the rest of my life now!!! Also if you are taking them and drinking at the same time, you're crazy, because you can black out, and get raped or fall asleep driving or something.. Just do yourself a favor don't take them unless a doctor tells you to..

if you overdose on xanax it would probably take you 4 to 6 weeks depending on how fast you went to the doctor and have your stomach pumped out. but never take any alcohol with any drug whether it;s over the counter or not because no drug will ever mix with alcohol.

Always when people say, "This is hypothetically speaking," they try it because they want to show how stupid they are. Sorry with the word, but it's the truth. It happens many times, and they only, "It's hypothetically experimenting." That's not funny, you know.
