Actually, Jehovah's Witnesses are unique in that they can ALL use the bible to explain their beliefs. Even Witness schoolchildren are comfortable explaining the Scriptures from door-to-door.
If the members of your church are not preaching as Christ commanded, you might ask yourself what Jesus said about those who would disregard the public preaching work...
Mat 28:19 Go therefore and make disciples
Luke 10:1-17 [Jesus said] Beg the Master of the harvest to send out workers into his harvest…he that disregards you disregards me too

Much respect for this Tamara. Not everyone would put themselves out there, especially on this site where people can act so stupid. I do have a question though. Maybe a dumb one, but what do Jehovah's witnesses believe? Like what about your religion makes it different from mine (Baptist)? And what's up with door-to-door thing?

"yahoorfascist" and others, have made the comment that we predicted the end of the world in 1975, which we never did, some of us brought out that 6000 years of man's history came to end in 1975, not the end of the world.
He also says the April 1, 1968 Watchtower states that the end of the world would happen in 1975, I just went throughout the Magazine 3 times, there is no mention of 1975.
This is just another statement that is not true about Jehovah's Witnesses, Most of the people but not all, that make these false statements were disfellowshipped for refusing to obey God's rules, and they have nothing else to do, but to sound off with their negative statements.
Some of the offenses that could merit disfellowshipping from the Christian congregation are fornication, adultery, homosexuality, greed, extortion, thievery, lying, drunkenness, reviling, spiritism, murder, idolatry, apostasy, and the causing of divisions in the congregation

Seriously - why do you need to go door to door for members? I just don't understand this. If a religion is so good, wouldn't people want to come to it on their own?
I'm cool with not celebrating Christmas or Easter (it was explained to me that there are serious doubts about the dates) but why can't you celebrate birthdays or let children play in competitive sports?
And I really wonder about some people who join JW. I hear comments like "I never liked Christmas before I joined anyway". Do these people truly believe in your tenet or are they just trying to get away with being cheap?
Okay, that's all for now. I hope I didn't offend with any of these - I really have been wondering about this.

Tamara,
I'm Catholic and I'd love to learn about your religion, mostly the general beliefs! I had a friend who was Jehovah's Witness in elementary school and I never quite understood her faith.

Does Larrib squished together spell Lamb?
Does b look like a D I stitched together?
Does p look like a DI stitched together?
is D=IIII as in fourth letter?
thus name written on this Lamb who is the lamp who is the KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS is IIII I . and its not tattooed like a pussy but carved in.
and SLAIN meant l cut in two is IL so SILAIIV is SLAIN as in seal A I IV(1-4) or DIED means to ADD DI. And you can see HE was the god in heaven if you some god up like god=7154=17=8=h and draw a body for h and n in heaven and see its a funeral for his father and He is five as h and His one-armed grandfather as n. This is the true story of Larri who is spelled larry but the italia's have not y so spelled i.
So what do Jehovahs Witnesses have to say about that?
a true story where a person can be SLAIN or DI'ed that does not involve ressurection of the dead.

Here's one: Why is it that Jehovah's Witnesses claimed that the world was going to end in 1975 and then when it didn't happen changed their minds?
Jehovah ends his sixth day of creation by fashioning Eve from Adam's rib. The seventh day of creation began in 4026 BCE and will last 7,000 years. Armageddon will occur in "the autumn of 1975, fully 6000 years into God's seventh day, his rest day." (April 1, 1968, Watchtower)

I have studied extensively with JW's and believe that they speak the truth, BUT I would also like an answer as to the end of the world predictions? That is one of my major issues with the religion as a whole (That, and the fact that the Society joined the UN...huh???) and an acceptable answer would really put my mind at rest!

My sister-in-law is Jehovah Witness, what exactly is your belief in regards to Jesus? Why, at my brother and her wedding did she refuse to have mention of Jesus in any part of the vows? Blessing, prayer ending in Jesus name..... do you not acknowledge that the only path to eternal life is through Jesus Christ? Regardless of if you believe in Jesus' diety, (which I do believe) he seems to play a very significant role in your religion. Please explain to me.
Also, I think, after reading some of the other posts, that you go door to door to spread the Gospel..correct? Thats was the Bible tells us to do. In any faith, how can you gain souls for the Lord if you are doing nothing?
