"Wonderful people" doesn't automatically mean they are wonderful parents.
I've known the nicest people in the world ...who are educated, and intelligent and an absolute pleasure to be around....who are complete idiots when it comes to raising children.
Never judge a book by it's cover...

It most likely has to do with the discipline. If the child is aloud to misbehave and run the show then they will do that. The parents need to regain their roll as the parent and take charge. Check out Supernanny on ABC. I live my her discipline which seems to work so well. I think she has a book also.

Wow, do I know you because it sounds like you are talking about me! Children are born with different temperments and you don't get to choose which one you get. You take what you are given and do what you can with it. Be careful with your labeling. That "misbehaved brat" will probably grow up to be a strong willed and highly successful adult because she doesn't do what she is told and challenges everything. Sometimes very undesirable behaviors in children are traits we admire in adults. Encourage them not to crush her little spirit but instead to teach and direct.

I know what u mean, My neighbor is the coolest nicest girl who works in a daycare no less....but her 4 year old son is a total brat to my 2 year old daughter, lastnight I took her over to play with him but the whole time we were there her son wouldn't let my daughter touch anything of his, he was hitting and yelling at her and just being a brat, and my neighbor would just tell him in a calm and quiet voice ..." Thats not nice sweetie: and he kept doing it. I don't know how to tell my neighbor that I don't like the way her son treats my daughter , and that if he's going to act like that then I can't bring her over anymore. let me know if you get any good advice!!!!!

The parents are probably wonderful people because they were disciplined when they were growing up. Now that they have a kid, they probably look back on that and think they would never discipline their child because they remember how much they hated it growing up.

The parents hide their actual self and act like a happy family on the outside. So they seem like they're happy

ask the parents if they've ever heard about indigo children. the kid doesn't know how to express his/her feelings and knows no boundaries. you can't push the boundaries unless you know where they are. and for a child who has none..........
