I have found the book, "The Feeling Good Handbook" by David Burns very useful in dealing with anxiety. It teaches you about the Ten Forms of Twisted Thinking that lead to anxiety and depression, and how to know when to accept your feelings, and when to try to change how you're thinking. After all, it's normal and healthy to feel bad sometimes. It's based on Cognitive Therapy. It's important to realize that usually the way you feel is based on the way you're thinking, and if you're thinking in an unhealthy way, it leads to negative emotions like anxiety.

Hey man I have had panic and anxiety attacks too it can be very scary it feels like nothing is real. You have a lot going for you whether you realize it or not. Take a couple deep breaths you will be fine. Anxiety cannot hurt you and sometimes it creeps up on you without you realizing it. It can be the scariest thing in the world because your brain is hyping you up with all kinds of crazy chemicals. You can control this and there is nothing wrong with you man. Enjoy life and have fun with it. When you get that feeling say "F this anxiety I am going to ignore it and have a good time with my life." and it will go away. Have fun with this girl and relax. Whatever happens, happens. Just go with the flow if you need anymore advice or techniques/ counseling you can e-mail me. Good luck and enjoy the ride =)

It depends on how severe. Some people firmly believe that you can just take deep breaths and it will all be ok. If you have a psychological disorder, mood disorder etc. then it is not that easy. If I could just breathe and be ok then I would not spend countless dollars on medicines and doctors. People tend to think you are weak if you medicate but I say screw them. They don't know. they may think they do but they have no idea. Go see a doctor and a therapist. If you choose to try to deal with it all on your own, you are punishing yourself. there is help. Some people call it "Mother's little helper" but they would not call it that if there was no basis in truth.

Something that could help you is taking a Yoga class. You will do stretching and balance exercises and at the end of the class there will be a meditation/relaxation exercise. You'll notice the difference! Also, do some exercise, like swimming, walking, riding the bike. Good luck!

Faith and obedience to the Lord! He said, 'be anxious for nothing...' if you can be disciplined with yourself, give Him your worries and concerns, life will be much much better for you! Good luck!
