For the sauce I use chicken broth, green chiles, onions, and flour. Saute the onions in butter then add the flour about 2 tablespoon. Add the green chile (as much as you want) and chicken broth (2 cans) and bring to a boil for 5 minutes. you can add oregano, salt and pepper if you like to add more flavor. Spoon the sauce in the bottom of the pan and layer corn or flour tortillas on top of the sauce. Top tortillas with cheese and more sauce, then top with more tortillas, continue this depending on how thick you want them. On your final layer- just top with cheese and sauce- Bake at 325-350 depending on your elevation for 30 minutes. Enjoy! If you want to add beans or chicken or anything else- add it every time you add the cheese and sauce!

You make the red chili with salt,oregano and garlic put the corn tortilla into the red chili sauce and put on plate smother with onions and cheese and continue till you get 5 put in oven or microwave and heat till cheese is melted 15 minutes

I use El Paso enchilada sauce in the can. My family prefers the mild version. i make these at least once a week, and the pan is empty Every time!
