I don't know about you, but God and I talk all the time. We try not to discuss politics because it makes the both of us cranky. I suppose it matters just WHAT it is that God or the voices in your head are telling you to do. Mine usually has me drink a nice cup of tea with cream and have cookies.

I cant answer your question, but would like to amend it...

Why is it when Bush talks to God he is praying, but when God talks to Bush he isn't put into the loony bin?

--- My guess on this question is because he has rich and powerful friends. The average man does not.

We are not necessarily put in the loony bin when God talks to us. We are put in the loony bin if we start using "God told me to" as an excuse for harmful behaviors (harming ourselves and/or others). That's pathology, not religion or spirituality.

When we talk to God we are praying and God answers only the fervent and faithful prayer. The loony bin is a fiction of imagination, it is only fleshy carnal response to our mind.

Because majority of humanity is incredibly stupid beyond belief. I mean if you look hard enough there are so many problems that would go away because the answers to them are so easy but most of humanity seems to be foolishly selfish....and stupid. So instead admitting they are loony for putting themselves in the most retarded situations, most prefer to label a christian as loony to run away from their own fears of things that are unknown to them or they fear not being considered cool anymore...

HOWEVER! There are those who are crazy and hears voices and theyll say,"God told me to snap his neck." Those are the ppl that need a hospital and God in their lives.

GOD IS GOOD.

I love this question!

Yes, I am a Christian, and yes, I pray, I pray often. I "talk to God". And, yes, God "talks to me".

On the other hand, there are some very frightening people who "hear voices". Check your local looney bin for some prime examples. Terrifying thought...

People of religion have become so lost in the laws that they forget the spiritual side and intent of the law. The law is there as a foundation and guidance. That's it. You have to allow the Holy Spirit to move through you and help you to grow. If you get stuck in the foundation, how will you build a home to shelter you against the comming storms?

We aren't, everyone hears God. There are just those few select people who ARE ''loony'' and think that God ist alking to them saying things like stone their children. We ALL hear from God, it just depends on how we do. And when we do, we aren't crazy.

Well, first of all - God can't talk to us.
We humans do not have the aural capacity to withstand God's voice.
Our head would explode.
I'm sure God had to go through several "Adams" before he figured out that he had to send one of his seraphims to do that talking for him.

So if we hear God, it's not really him, but the highest choir of angel, talking to us.
Or it's us, ehich means we belong in the looney bin! *L*

because it frightens people to think we could talk to an all-knowing, all -powerful, omnipotent God...because maybe they heard God and knew God in the bible days but as for now nobody hears God...because it seems not so natural to talk with God...you know, people don't quite understand and so they have to make sense out of it for themselves...so as Christians you have to use wisdom as to who you tell what's going on between you and The Almighty!
