That was a great slogan!

Tootsie Roll still remembers that ad campaign, and has a web site dedicated to the slogan - see the first link below. You may be showing you age a little - the first commercial using that slogan ran in 1970!

A group of engineering students from Purdue University recorded that their licking machine, modeled after a human tongue, took an average of 364 licks to get to the center of a Tootsie Pop. They tried the same licking test on 20 volunteers and found that the average licks to the center were 252 licks.

A group of students at Swathmore School used human lickers in a scientific experiment and determined it took an average of 144 licks to get to the center of a Tootsie Pop.

Crunch. The world may never know!

don't remember any slogan, but the Bartle & James commercials were great. We could spend the entire class period in Marketing discussing them.

Well as the commercial stated "a one, a two, a three," if I remember correctly.

"Always Coke-a-Cola." That song they sang for that 80s commercial was my favorite.
