my girlfriend wants to be at my apartment (to rest/study) when i'm not there. I'm not comfortable with it and told her this, but in the end i agreed. She is upset that i am hesitant about this.. she believes i should be comfortable and want to help her out. we've been dating for almost a year. should i be comfortable with this? Or is it ok for me to want my space? Or do i need to relax? Is she impinging on my personal space?

it shouldn't be a big deal unless you have something to hide. this is really an attempt, by her, to spend more time with you--she wants to be there when you come home. but, i feel you on the space thing...so tell her why and don't be afraid to be brutally honest with this...because if it starts to bother you, it will lead to a lot of fights.

I get that you want your space, but if after a year you don't trust her to be in your apartment without you then I would question the relationship. I guess it depends on how serious you two really are.
I used to house sit for my bf when we had been dating around a year and he had no problem with it.

You need to find out what about this situation is making you uncomfortable. Do you have something to hide? Are you afraid she'll mess something up? I have a freind that comes over to my house to use my computer all the time-not too big a deal, but originally it was to use my extra computer and that one died, so now she uses MY computer-this bothers me...same problem as you? I don't know...but what do you say to someone like that?
I feel your pain :(

Keep your space. Its yours. She doesn't live there. We all need a place to call our own without wondering who will be there when we get back. And what if she paws through your stuff? There is nothing wrong with boundaries. Why can't she just go to her place, or get something closer?

if you have nothing to hide then you should be confertable with her being there, BUT NO there's nothing wrong with wanting your own space.
