Yes. You don't have to have a problem to turn to God.
I was almost 30 and didn't have any major problems in my life at the time. I accepted an offer to study the Bible and attended a seminar, and I was convinced that what was presented was the truth. Since then I have gone through some very difficult times, to the point of rejecting God. But, in the end, God has given me enough evidence to know that He does exist.

Personally, I was raised in a Christian home. When I became an adult I began to question the tings I'd been taught. I studied all the major religions, all the major denominations, and atheism. I was willing to embrace whatever I discovered to be the truth. For myself, I am a Christian today because of conviction...not because it was "expected" or force fed.
Yes, the Christian faith brings "healing" to the mind & soul, but it is also very logical.
Historically:
The life of Christ isn't grounded in "wishful thinking", its grounded in historical fact. Real people, real places, and real events.
Spiritually:
The Christian faith is the perfect fulfillment of OT prophecy. From the symbolism of Jewish ceremonial law, to a multitude of prophecies (such as Isaiah 53), they all pointed to Christ.
Now, there are events/accounts that seem to defy logic (e.g.- the virgin birth, the resurrection, etc). But those things are based upon our perception of what is logical...just because they're outside of our experience does not make them illogical. The isea that the Christian faith is a "crutch" is ridiculous. If I simply wanted to take the "easy road" in life I would follow Epicureanism, not Jesus Christ.

I did feel as if God was calling to me. I attended church years ago "just because my husband did". That was definately the wrong reason. I drifted away from the church after our divorce. I started feeling God calling me back after 9 years. I prayed that he would show me a church where I would feel totally welcomed.
One Saturday the Church of God was handing out fliers on the street, welcoming people to visit. I took up the offer.....rededicated my life to the Lord on Easter Sunday....and I am going to be baptised this coming Sunday!!

I have many people in my church who are very similar to your description. By the way, God does things through weak people for a reason. Look at the story of Gideon in the Bible.

Faith is just that. Faith. I know many Christians who belive not because they needed someone in a time of pain, but because they see beauty in the world around them. Times of pain are a test for a member of any faith, and are often used because in the believer's mind, they are the most compelling pieces of evidence to use in an explanation.
Every religion is the same, really, when it comes to it's believers. Everyone has their own reasons for believing, and even those who only seem to believe because of a traumatic experience often have a plethora of reasons in their hearts for following their path. Tru followers of any faith, however, will see the presence of the divine in everything, not just the guidance provided in a time of strife.

I became a Christian when I was twelve years old. I had not been hurt, if anything, I had been a very sheltered child.
Having said that, however, I would like to add a little note. Forty-odd years later, I have been through some very difficult times. At times, I have doubted my faith. But, through it all, God has been with me, and has kept me close, yes, even when I was shaking my fist at heaven, He was holding me in His arms. I may have questioned my decision to follow Him, but I have never regretted it.

I am a very religious person. I grew up in a church and I have never been seriously hurt emotionally. I could have stopped going if I wanted to, but I dont want to. Some people go to church when they need help, and thats good because they could go to a million other places that wouldn't help them correctly.

I just felt called. I had a picture perfect childhood and wasn't brought to the Lord through pain or heartache. It just felt right for me so I decided to do it.
