I have 5 ripe bananas to use up, want to make a smoothie, but I'm out of milk and have no car to get to the store. Can I use plain yogurt in its place, and, if so, how? Some of my smoothies that I made before sucked because I didn't have things in the right quantities. Any recipes would be greatly appreciated, I need some breakfast!!

You don't really need a recipe. Yogurt will work fine.
You should freeze the bananas first. Cut then into chunks without the peel and freeze for at least 1/2 an hour.
Do you have any fruit juice in the house?
Put a liquid in the blender first (kool-aide,,juice, milk, etc) add the yogurt then the frozen bananas & any other frozen fruit. Blend until smooth.
You should only need 1 or 2 whole bananas for 2 smoothies. You can leave the rest in the freezer for up to a week in a well sealed plastic bag.
If you only use milk & bananas - add a dash of vanilla

Banana Smoothie

Made with yogurt, this drink is both refreshing and nourishing. To tell when a banana is ripe, look for tiny brown spots, called sugar spots, on the peel.

Ingredients

* 1 ripe banana
* 1/2 c. nonfat yogurt
* 1 tbsp. sugar (or to taste)
* 1 tbsp. banana liqueur (optional)
* 1 c. crushed ice
* 1 tsp. fresh lime juice
* lime wedge or banana slice, for garnish

Combine the first 6 ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth. Pour the smoothie into a large glass and garnish with a lime wedge or banana slice. Serves 1.

if you have yogurt:
1/2 cup yogurt
1/2 water (apple juice if you have it)
2 bananas
use more water if you dont like thick smoothies
*apple juice works because it doesnt mess up flavor like oj

freeze other bananas for tomorrow. peel em first, if not it's almost impossible to get peels off.

You could try the yogurt and a little orange juice if you have it.
