'm single for the first time in a year and am curious about the pros and cons of a FWB. and how to go about finding one. is it a good idea at all?

I think it's possible to be good FWB .. all it takes is good communication skills .. It's nice if you're truly good friends.
Pros : Have fun with your friend, great sex, can see other people, I'm Bi .. so that works out even better and we both get to reap the benefits of this one .. bring home other girls, it truly taught me a lot sexually since I am so comfortable with him ...
Cons : Getting attached emotionally since sex is a very bonding procedure.
If you don't watch out you might end up like me ... I've been with my FWB for over a few months now and things couldn't be better. During out FWB stage we both learned so much about each other and truly connected more then friends.

There are two ways that can go. You will find a FWB and it will work out for you, or the opposite will happen. You will find the FWB and unfortunately if you put two people together one of the two will develop feelings, and the other will not eventually causing a lot of pain for the other person. Make sure the person knows, not just agrees but KNOWS that is what you are after before you jump into that kind of thing

It is not a good idea AT ALL. FWB never works the way it is supposed to. What happens is that you both say that o its just friends and just for fun. Then after a few months either she or he start to get more attracted because sex is a form of love.
Once that attraction starts then the one that is more attracted will start saying things about you hanging out with others and then eventually they will start talking about dating.
Once they start talking about dating you will never hear the end of it until you want to end it. They will bring it up everyday and start introducing you to friends and family like a boyfriend/girlfriend until you get the hint and start dating.
Not a good idea at all, better to just find someone to love.

Friends with benefits is a good idea as long as you are honest with each other. Completely honest! There is no reason to give anyone false hopes to receive satisfaction because you can recieve it with the truth just as well. Best part is if you guys are friends first building a relationship on trust and honesty if you get serious you know that person as being an honest and good person not a liar and a snake.

cons - your not the only one w/ benifits.... meaning he/she could be screwing other people and chances are they don't know if they have a sexually transmitted disease.
pros- you don't have to worry about being in a relationship
I wouldn't go for FWB... While the pro's do tend to out weight the bad in number, that one con means more to me than most of the pros... it's not safe

If "the rules" are not clear... there could be lots of drama. Not to mention that if either person is not "clean" then there's potential to get an STD.
Pro's... isn't it obvious? You have... A friend... and benefits the best of both worlds.

friends with benifits is a really bad idea becasue one of u gets attached to the other person and then somone heart gets broken. I highly sugest that you dont do the FWB becasue it just ends up bad no matter what. i know from expierence and it hurts alot when they just want to hook up.

Pros: Booty Call access, close friend, no strings attached.
Cons: May lose sight of the fact that you are not gf bf.

its ok, but std's are out there.. And if you do that you have to etablish that is what it is in the begining, so you don't get feelings that you didn't expect..
