The economy is the only reason illegals are here. If it weren't for them you would not have cheap products or wealthy business owners.

And besides, illegal immigrants are NOT the key to the U.S. economy.
If low skilled, uneducated workers were the key to a great economy, where' s the economy of Mexico today? Or any Central American country? They should be kicking our collective economic behinds since these countries are literally overrun with low-skilled, uneducated workers. Yet, these are the poorest countries this side of Africa.
Don't let any one convice you that illegal immigrants are the 'backbone' of the U.S. economy. They are no such thing. In fact, they create much more of a drain on the economy than their efforts produce... the money we spend on education for their d*** kids, medical care (provided at no charge to them at any emergency room in the country), etc etc etc etc.. Not to mention the added expense to business due to being MADE to offer information in Spanish as well as English.
There are TV Shows in Mexico that explain how to take advantage of medical care provided in the U.S... for example, they instruct any potential immigrants NOT to take a taxi service to get to an emergency room, because they would be expected to pay for a cab... call an ambulance instead... no charge to them.
Illegal immigrants are breaking the law...I fail to understand why the debate should go beyond that very point.

Because of all the ILLEGAL immigrants, we LEGAL americans lose out on jobs. And to respond to elperros answer: Yes, some may be able to buy some products cheaper because of cheaper labor from the ILLEGAL immigrants. But, if we were to have these jobs that the ILLEGAL immigrants have, and paid properly, then we would be able to afford any increase in product prices. Or just choose not to buy the items. In any case, at least if we had that job that the ILLEGAL immigrants have, we could at least pay for our essentials. Instead, many of us are without jobs, and can barely pay our bills, because the ILLEGAL immigrants have them. On top of all of that, it is my understanding that most ILLEGAL immigrants dont pay taxes, get free medical and aid and schooling of which we LEAGAL americans pay for through our taxes. TOTALLY UNFAIR.
I would like to add to what tweety answered: I TOTALLY agree with you on the english/spanish thing. This is america, learn to speak ENGLISH, or leave it. This is so rediculous, the government trying to convert us to both english and spanish, and wasting LEGAL AMERICANS tax dollars to do this. Did we do that for the French, Italian, chinese, japanese, etc.? We didnt change our national language to add any of these, so why should we change it for the ILLEGAL spanish speaking people in AMERICA. AMERICA has always been a primary english speaking country and should remain that way.

It is ethics they are illegal they broke the law and we just let them go it is not fair to US citizens or legal immigrants who abide the law maybe we should be able to have a felony and automatically pardoned and why should we the taxpayers also pay for them to live here and reward them for not following our laws they can also bring in drugs illegally and hurt the people in our country with them

they just shouldnt be here. we need help as it is w/o the help of them taking in all of our resources. if we need help with medical insurance, cant get it or you have a hard time because there are so many of them using it. which i will say is fine if you really need it but not the illegals.there are so many things that we offer to these people, illegal or not and its not appreciated. they shouldnt even be over here. i say that it is fair for them to be tested and put on a waiting list to come into this country because this is the USA!!! everyone wants to be here. i do feel bad for the people in other countries. i wouldnt want to be there if i were them. but they come here and run our country into the ground. no i am NOT prejudice, i just dont want to live the way they do.

Because they can live here for free and work and have kids. Who then are instantly American citizens. Then those kids marry another illegal immigrant and there not citizens. Its a cycle of getting to live here free.

They steal the identity of others by stealing the social security numbers. Many people have years of problems trying to clear their credit records because of the felonies committed by illegals.

Health care costs. Taxpayers have to take up the slack because of all the free health care they get. Plus, the Anchor Babies that are born here...the mother gets a welfare check sent to her monthly to care for that "new" American citizen.

Laws, And it is hurting others in basic living necessities. Are Seniors and poor are bing hurt by the backlash of this by program cuts and cost of living raises in their checks. They too need help. It would be nice to help all but that is not possible.

Because they are illegal. Illegal meaning they have broken a law. It's very simple, there is no argument when you come down to that basic reason.
