Personally, I've always enjoyed Exodus, because of the very human struggle of the Hebrews, and the freedom they sought. They learned the hard way to not take their freedom for granted.

I guess, because of this, Moses is my favorite character.

One of my favorite stories in the OT is in Genesis. It's the story of the Tower of Babel. Why? Because this story explains the reasons for all the different languages in the world.

My favorite character in the Bible is probably Daniel.

My favorite character is Ruth. When she said to her mother-in-law... your God will be my God, your family will be my family...
I kind of followed the religion of my son's grandmother, and I wanted to be part of that family. And even though things didn't work out with her son. I am still part of their family.

I like Isaiah as my favorite prophet. In Isaiah 6:1 -13, where the coal was taken to purge his sins, because he felt unclean. That takes whole lot of courage and faith to be willing to be cleansed in this manner.
We sometimes, spiritually, need to be cleansed. It is painful, but you come out after wards new and better person.

I like the part of the Bible (Kings) where it says that it is OK to beat your slaves, as long as they can get up within two or three days.
