It is a well paying job that will probably challenge you. You will need quite a bit of schooling first. The best way to check out any career is to speak with someone who's already doing it. Most people will be glad to talk to you because they are proud of what they do (especially in brainy work lines). Try finding a company in your area that hires aerospace engineers. Call them up to see if there is someone there that can talk to you more about the profession. You might even get an internship out of it!

Doing what you enjoy is fun, and not work.

The best way to know for sure what the job entails is to find and contact an aerospace engineer. It would be best to go where they are and buy them lunch. Anyone who enjoys what they do, will enjoy talking about their job and themselves.

Who knows, you might even meet your Mentor; the best of both worlds.

That is slightly offtopic, but never believe those saying that "doing what you enjoy is fun, and not work". Having a job you enjoy is normal, while doing what you don't enjoy is masochism, or just plain stupidity. Work should be fun, or your whole life will be miserable. On average, you'll be spending half of your waking hours at work. And you only have to be miserable if no rewarding job can be fun for you. I hope that's not your case.
