depression doesn't always mean you're sad, it also has a lot to do wtih irritability and a feeling of hopelessness or not caring about a lot of things. but the irritability plays a large factor in it. it may just be that you have a chemical imbalance in your head that doesn't allow your neurotransmitters to function properly. try speaking to your family physician about this and hopefully he or she can prescribe something to get you back on the right track. good luck!

Hey - life can sometimes seem a bit crappy and growing up is kinda tough. It's perfectly normal to feel a bit pissed off at times. But life is fundamentally wonderful - it's just sometimes you can lose sight of it.
Speak to someone if it helps - in the UK we have phone services like Samaritans and Childline and I guess you'll have something similar in the US (-I'm guessing that's where you're based) and you'll probably be able to find their number in the phone book. However, also try just remembering some of the good things in life - when you get down you tend to forget them and that makes everything seem so much worse.
Take care

If you cant pin point your problem. It could be YOU screaming out for help!
I truly believe that when we are not pursuing our purposes in life we tend to experience a kind of confusion, There is something going on that we just cant seem to grasp.
Maybe we know in ourselves that we are letting others control our destination in life, and we begin to buck like a horse.
Life has meaning and everyone of us, no matter what level of society we belong to. Has a God giving purpose some call void.
And when we are successful in life which "dont" mean purpose. When we are moving at the speed of sound we sometimes miss the sound of the small still voice.

I am going through the same thing at the moment as it happens. I am sniping at everyone for no apparent reason. And like you my mom is ticking me off the most. We're constantly going back and forth about little things and tensions are high. My step-mom says its just a phase and I'm being rebellious and that it will pass. I really hope so. I think you should just try and work through it.

Stress would do it. Everyone nowadays seems to think pills fix everything, but sometimes the situations you find yourself in can cause your mind to get overloaded and not know how to deal with all the feelings. I mean, they once claimed my mom had some kind of depression that's incurable, but once she got away from the ppl who were treating her like crap it disappeared.
Probably what'd help you a lot is if you find someone you trust and just vent about all the crap in your life.

find yourself a hobby, a job or something that you'll enjoy and as it maybe because you have too much time on your hands, so your agitated and find everything around you annoys you. Also maybe your mum's nagging because no one is helping her around the house and instead are adding to the mess... which happens in my house... so maybe help her out with the odd thing to keep her off your back.

sometimes i feel the same way and i don't know why the only people that can calm me down is my family any way why don't you try doing things that make you happy and try to be around people who are fun and lively, i find the best way to calm myself down is to have a healthy stimulating argument with either my friends or my parents, My parents are always game to get into an argument with me they like working me up cos they know i calm down quick after a shouting match try it might work.

With depression you are not always sad. Plus, you could be bipolar...is there anyway you could go see a psychologist? They really help...even if it's just to talk about what is pissing you off.
