The countries with the highest absolute numbers of catholics are:
1. Brazil, with around 135 millions of catholics (around 75% of population)
2. Mexico with around 94 millions (around 88% of population)
3. USA with around 70 millions (around 25% of population)

Italy, even if 100% of their population was catholic, wouldn't beat any of those nations, since Italy has less that 60 millions people.

I guess the country with the highest relative concentration of catholics must be the Vatican, likely 100%. They have less than 1,000 persons with citizenship though.

You might be suprise by this but the smallest country in the world has the most catholics, and that is Vatican
