How did Tyra Banks take those gorgeous photos?

In Episode 7 of Cycle 5 of America's Next Top Model, Tyra took photos of the contestants with a disposable black and white camera. She put Vaseline on their faces and used a lot of dark eyeliner - and that's all the detail I remember. The pictures were beautiful and she made it look sooooooo easy.
Can anyone give me some better details about how she shot these photos?

Black & White is a lot easier to photograph than color, that is for sure (not neccessarily better). But the true key to that was the lighting. The same photos without the light setup they used wouldn't look 1/2 has good. If you understand fashion photography and fasion lighting, those photos are easy to take. But people spend years learning the trade before they can pull something like that off.

Black and white photos always turn out better than colour, although people prefer colour. Black and white hides imperfections that would otherwise be visible using colour. You don't need to use alot of makeup other than the frills in order to get a good photo. I like using black and white for this reason and turning colour photos into black and white often makes a good photo into a great photo.

Thats it basically. That and proper lighting. The vaseline and black eyeliner was used to enhance the contrast of the black and the white.

Ummmm photoshop. Even though it was a disposable camera, twenty bucks says that they took it to Walgreens, asked for a picture cd, loaded it into photoshop and did some work.
