Chest pain is not always heart related. Reflux or gerds can cause chest pain as well. If you have problems with anixety you can have chest pains. You know very well as we all do that you need to quit smoking for your health's sake.... If you are having trouble doing so I suggest you go to the hospital and ask if you can help out at the cancer ward. If that don't help give you the kick to quit smoking I don't know what will. I have had three people in my family been diagnosed with lung cancer and nobody complained of pain. One is died, the other dying as we speak, and the third has just been diagnosed. All chest pain should be taken (No pun intended) to heart. Because untill a doctor tells you what you are dealing with you are risking your life. Good Luck!!!!!!

Even though doctors world over say that cigarettes cause cancer - no one has ever proved it till date. As I am a cancer survivor and have been one for the last six years, I did read a lot on this illness. We all have cancer cells which are dormant. Its a matter of chance and some additional conditions as cigarettes may lead them to come alive. If smoking was the cause of cancer- why is that a lot of heavy smokers never contract the illness? Cancer is a unique illness that attacks for no specific reason. Even a non smoker could contract throat cancer, lung cancer and so on.

Chest pain, pressure and tightness are common complaints from people who quit smoking. It is a general respiratory problem which is very common. I quit smoking almost two weeks ago now and have had severe shortness of breath, chest pains and tightness ever since, not permanently, not always in the same place, but always very frightening. Only recently did I go to the Doctors and he listened to my lungs, heart etc and tested my blood pressure and heart beat. Everything was normal. He said that anything serious and he would have probably picked it up from those quick check ups, but has referred me for an ECG (electronic heart reading) just to be safe but he did mention, chest pain, shortness of breath etc...he hears it a lot from people who have stopped smoking. I have read why it is somewhere but can't remember. If you look it up "chest pain after quitting smoking" there is loads on it.

Could be a sign of a couple of things. It might be a sign of cancer. Best to get it checked out, becuase I am no doctor and the real answer is getting it checked out, becuase I don't know if anyone would know the true answer to that here. Maybe? Maybe not? See a doctor.

I once had back pains once from lifting and I shrugged it off, then I went to the doctor and I had spasams in my back. That was 3 weeks ago, but I'm good now.

So see a doctor. It's your best choice.

Chest pain is most likely a sign of Cardiovascular Disease. The leading cause of death in smokers is NOT cancer, but rather, cardiovascular disease (heart attacks and strokes). You need to see your doctor NOW!

Don't want to say for sure... could just mean you are smoking too much, slow down a little and see if that helps... I would tell you to quit, but I won't untill I quit myself.
