Really this question should be in home and garden. He should use an oil based paint. water based will likely peal off.

The color is on the inside of the prosthesis so coloring it won't help. A contact won't really work either because it would dry out in the prosthetic eye and no good physician will give a contact to a patient with only one good eye. There are too many risks involved in contact lens wear and also, a person with only one eye should always wear eye protection as to protect their only eye.

Sorry about your friend. How about contact lenses maybe he can use a brown contact lense on the prosthetic eye. In the mean time he should see other Doctors that is insane not only does he have to deal with losing an eye but be reminded of it whenever he looks in a mirror or be obvious to others. I think there's some serious liability there.

well i work at an eye doctors office, and the only thing i can possibly think of is colored contacts... but i am not certain if patients can wear them with prosthetic eyes.... maybe call an optometrist and ask if he can wear a contact in that eye. if so, i recommend Freshlook Colorblends, theres a few browns to choose from.

Thanks Uncle Sam not only do I have to go around the rest of my life with a wooden eye it doesn't even match my one good eye. I think I would save up or ask for donations for a new one. Maybe wear a contact lens on one of the eyes to match or maybe better just a patch. I think with Johnny Depps pirate movies maybe it would fly. Who knows

Try using some contact lens in the good eye. That may help, blue eyes are in these days.

No No No this is wrong he needs to call the medical board that governs this health professional .This is gross negligence. It's bad enough to have an eye prosthesis but to not give your natural color is absurd.Get an attorney.

I don't know if he can recolor it but there should be something he can do to make the doctor give him the eye he needs. That doctor should have a lawsuit on his hands right now.
