A complete outsiders opinion:
At this point in your life, you should do what makes YOU happy. And your significant other.
Age doesn't matter now. This is coming from a 25 year old married to a 31 year old. We were married when I was 17. Everyone said the same things about us. Been married for 8 years now and going strong :)
I hope you and your friend are happy together and have many happy years to spend. Nothing compares to a wonderful friendship. At any age.
~The term is not old, you are young at heart~

You started a sexual relationship with this man?? Doesn't a "grandpa" pop in your head? I mean there are plenty of other men out there that would love to be with you.
How many of these relationships last that have a big age difference?
I think its best not to get your hopes up.
I think you are still young....its like you're 17 and hes 38.
The difference still shows.

no matter if that's only a sexual component why no longer yet i imagine if a courting ought to commence up def the age hollow is only too a lot if he replaced into 31 and she replaced into 40 2 it wouldnt make a distinction yet 21 is only too youthful for a 32 three hundred and sixty 5 days previous

I did not hear you say , you love him?
If your heart & soul are with him and you love him I think your doing the right thing. When someone says it's for the money your after you simply look at your own heart and ask and respond to them from there.
Honesty spoken has no where to hide!
I feel (If You Love Him) you are doing the right thing.
Sincerly,
Michael

Since you are already 52 and have not much chances of getting men around your age or otherwise, then it is ok. It is your last chance to grab at happiness. Go for it.

you are 52 and can make your own decisions. Tell the rest of them to accept it or leave you alone.
I'm 52 also. and if I found some older woman to date and sleep with I'm sure I'd hear worse.
enjoy your life, it's too short.

If you are happy together, it doesn't matter what the age difference is, or what other people think. Do what makes you happy.
