Ignore that first response... true Macs aren't as upgradable as PCs, but RAM, processors, and video cards can be upgraded... (Until I upgraded from the G4 I had been using, I had added 1GB of Ram, upgraded the video card, and switched to a better processor)... the Macs come in sets, if you buy the top of the like computer in the set, it can't be upgraded much, but unlike a PC it will last for years without needing an upgrade, whereas PCs start becoming obsolete and unstable as soon as you order them.

Windows runs more stable on the Intel Macs than it does on a machine built to run windows. Plus, Mac OS itself has many more features and bundled software than PCs and is far easier to use (yes, it takes a little getting used to if you're a PC person, but once you do, you will never be able to use a PC again without getting frustrated at everything about it.

As far as partitioning the hard drive... if you're only gonna run that one PC program... 50GB or so should be plenty... But, in case you decide on more programs later, I might would set aside 100 or 150 GB to Windows... (besides... even 150, you'll still have 350 GB for the Mac side... which should be more hard drive than you'll ever use).

you computer has a application that will tell you based on the amount of virtual memory and physical memory how much you can partion it and operate with your computer operating properly. yes pc applications do run properly on this model and the duo intel core. yes the mac os which may come with windows xp pro will operate better than boot camp. available now. partions work well if there really is aneed to seperate operations and application file for better speed.

Overall, the Macintosh is a great computer. Once you get one and start using it, you won't want to use Windows again.

You CAN UPGRADE a MAC! That's false that you can't. I have upgraded many Macs over the years and still do.

I do not suggest getting a MAC. They are pretty and I guess they are more secure, but you cannot upgrade them at all. Once you get a Mac you have that mac and that very same mac until you buy a brand new one. You cannot change any cards, get better video cards, just that very same mac
