Shortly after the Romans built roads. There were these birds that were playing "chicken". They would dare each other to run across the road as the Roman Legions marched by. The ones that didn't try were called chickens. The ones that ran and didn't make it were normally killed and eaten by the Romans. Soon the only ones left were the ones that would not try to cross. Hence they were named chickens.
I bet you didn't know that is how they go there name did you.

the chicken was sad and lonely of one side and decide to cross over to the other side because there was something better over there. or the chicken had to cross the road because the other side seem full of life.
