I cannot even imagine going through this life w/o God. He is my peace and my comfort when I have nowhere to look but up. Has my life been one "bed of roses"? No way! But w/o God as my strength I would be very empty. And just think.....eternity is still to come....

Where does the idea come from that if what we are doing is fun, it can't be God's will? The God who made giraffes, a baby's fingernails, a puppy's tail, a crooknecked squash, the bobwhite's call, and a young girl's giggle, has a sense of humor. Make no mistake about that.
God loves us. We tell our children to stay away from the stove, because it will burn them. We tell them not to play in the street, because we know it is dangerous to play in traffic. God is the same. The "rules" Christians live by do not restrict them, but, like the rules we make for our children, they allow us to enjoy our lives, and be safe. What could be more fun and uplifting than that?
Don't take yourself too seriously...nobody else does.
Blessed are they who can laugh at themselves, for they shall always be smiling.....

You've got it spot on girl! Jesus fills with joy and having a relationship with god were you can walk and talk with him is a good as it can get. But at the same time you have an incredible peace and no longer look for satisfaction in other thing. And more you obey him and live in a way that pleases him, the more you will be blessed beyond you imagination. But this doesn't mean you free from all trouble or that you're immune. Remember that!

Having fun and uplifting as you say is always good for the soul because after all who does not want to have a happy life. Actually what we are doing here on earth as Christians is somewhat a reflection of what paradise should be based on our interpretation. Men always aim for paradise as promise by God however paradise became laced with temptations, sin, lies and deceit and that's what destroyed life on earth. If only man despise pretensions, then reality would show itself more clearly for us to aim for fairness and justice in order for righteousness to prevail and would lead us to become real children of God. Then that will be the time when the pleasures that we derive from our earthly activilties become pleasant and acceptable making paradise a reality and not remain a dream.

The majority of Christians that I know are morose, depressed people, constantly blaming god for their problems, never looking within for solutions. They constantly berate those around them about heaven and hell. They never seem happy.
On the other hand, I've never met an unhappy Hindu. I've never met an unhappy Muslim.
The atheists that I know vary widely from ecstatically happy to very depressed.
The agnostics, pagans and others that I know all seem to accept what life presents without needing any sort of "heaven" as a carrot on a stick, or "hell" as a fate to avoid.
They all live moral, ethical lives without orgies, murder, or drinking/drug binges.
All paths lead to the same place. This is heaven. There is no such thing as hell. Salvation lies within. Blessed be.

Being a Christian is wonderful beyond description. It is something that you would have to experience to know the uforic place it puts you in. This spritual high if you will, will not fry your brain, or kill you. You are not "superman", but Jesus is with you through out your entire life. And if you allow Him to lead you, He will make all those life experiences that pull you down a little more bearable. He does answer prayers. He will astound you in many way.
Example...
My husband and I pray before we do anything or make any decisions asking God to take care of us and show us His way and not ours. One day my husband was driving our truck over to help a disabled friend, but he was leaving the driveway on fumes and and empty gas tank. He asked the Lord to allow him to get to our friend's house because he had no money for gas. Just as he was backing out the driveway, our dog came up to the truck with something in her mouth nicely laying across her jaw as if it was placed there. My husband got out of the truck to see what was in her mouth as she approached him with excitement, and found a five dollar bill in her mouth. He said "thank You Lord, I'm now able to buy some gas!"
God will make a way for you, if you make a way for Him to enter into your life by way of accepting Him as your Savior. I wouldn't have it any other way.

My life is truly amazing as I type. I just spend the time sharing my love for G-- in the Internet. But, yes. You view things differently. You face the same struggles, but with a powerful force and attitude that nothing can break. Yes, even in the worst of times.
G-- is truly amazing

Christian life is just like any other ups and downs, but we have a friend in Jesus who sticks with us through the good times and the bad.

Sure is for me. I would not go back to what I was before for all the money in the world. Just thought I was happy then but was all an allusion. Now I know what real happiness is.
