that may point out some of the more questionable aspects of the religion, supposed "Christians" who are supposed to be "saved" and trying to emulate Christ, these people will put you down in a heartbeat and call you this, that, and the third. I just asked a valid question about this religion and it was inoffensive (basically, why is the religion centered around money? It's always some pastor with a "gimmie your money" gimmick) YET, I was blasted on by supposed "children of God". OK. Does your God condone judgemental behavior and wickedness towards others? I thought Christ was against all that. This is really for you, Ambassador. You sound really angry.

My fault, Ambassador. I didn't mean to put you on front street, but now that I read your profile and see you are a minister yourself and a business person, it all makes sense now. Have a pleasant day.

The problem is not with you, it is with those who interpret your question in a wrong way. Some answer positively and some do not. So, why do you think this is so? It just simply shows that people have different interpretation on how questions are being raised. But I think you have made your point but don't expect that it will change everything because there will always be a different understanding and different opinions.

There are hypocrites and not so attractive examples in every denomination. While in the past, maybe even in the present, you are right, certain TV preachers or maybe even in the local church have made it all about the money. While it does take money to run a church, I can see how it would be offensive to watch, say the elderly, giving their last dime and watch the Pastor or wife of the Pastor in elabrate clothing or cars. Counterfiet Christians?
This is where you have to find a church that honestly does not do that.
Christ chose to come to earth and be a servant and poor. I am not saying you have to be poor, but it does say in the Bible that the rich will find it hard to enter the Kingdom of Heaven.
Also, about the anger some of the responses to different question is out of order as well. How does a Christian try to win over a soul for Christ by being rude and responding offensively? We are to be setting an example for others to see. If people do not ask questions, how will they know?
I send appologies to those of you with questions that receive rude answers from proclaimed Christians, that is not the way it should be.
Any one who gets mad at my response and is a Christian, you may want to pray and ask that the Lord show you the meaning of being like Christ. Humble, showing mercy, love, forgiveness, etc... go back to the Bible and refresh yourself in his Word.

I think a lot of the response one gets when asking religion-based questions is because the person answering has to be defensive.
There are a lot of religions in the world - Buddhism, Shinto, Muslim, Christianity, Judaism, and on and on. A person who is involved with one of those religions has professed to believe in that set of values.
It puts you in a tight spot to claim that you believe in the "one and only" - and then have others come around and say that your beliefs aren't valid. Sorta like standing on the street corner, screaming that you believe in George W. Bush, only to have someone on the other corner screaming that they believe in John Kerry, and even someone on a third corner screaming all that's wrong with George Bush.
Religion demands certain behaviors from its members (you will read the bible, you will act this way or that way, you will tell everyone about this religion, etc) - and it's a brutal slap in the face for the believer to find that, even though he's doing everything the preacher said he should, there are still people that don't believe as he does. So, he starts to get defensive, and it ends up being a "is too" "is not" "is too" "is not" "is too" "is not" discussion all the time.
I appreciate quiet religious folks. They can believe what they want, but don't throw it in your face all the time.

Those that ask for money and put the pressure on you that it is the way to heaven is doing a big dis-service to their own salvation. Teachers that lead others astray are judged more harshly than the rest of us. Yes, Jesus says, judge and be judged. Meaning, we must look at ourselves before passing judgment on others. If we are really honest, none of us have any room to judge another.
Follow Christ and not religion. Religion is man made doctrines and rules. The bible spells things out pretty plain, why so many denominations have to twist and interrupt it differently is a mystery to me.
I am a Christian, not Baptist, Catholic, etc.
Don't let a few misguided people that probably mean well, but are coming off un-Christ-like deter you from exploring your faith and satisfying the questions that you have.

" why is the religion centered around money? It's always some pastor with a "gimmie your money" gimmick)" You call that inoffensive? You don't see how saying we are based on money is offensive? We like to think we are based on the teachings of the Son of God

Did you know that all wars are fought due to religious differences? Leaders will always through in a religious component just to rile the people up and get them fighting. You are correct....the God I believe in does not condone judgemental behavior or wickedness towards others...nor does He condone greed. God also advises us to be discerning. We shouldn't be giving our money to causes that seem greedy. I like to think that my God will help me to discern who to share His blessings with; that is the blessings He has given to me....it may not be the same cause as anyone else and that is between me and Him. You need to do what is right for you and your higher power whatever you conceive Him to be....and you shouldn't be judging the pastor who has the "gimmie your money" attitude...if he's not righteous, his God will deal with him!

Hey, hows it going man, it sounds like he really upset you.! I don't know all the details nor do I need to, I'm just here to say that there is a lot of reasons why someone says what they say, to many reasons to even begin mentioning but Ive been through some similar types of situations. But what I really want to say to you is, please don't allow whatever this guy said to you to stop you from asking questions, because eventually somebody somewhere will come by and answer your questions. Hell, I'd love a chance to answer some of your questions, but I have to warn you I ain't perfect and maybe, just maybe there will be some questions that must remain unanswered. But I'd really like to take a shot at it..anyway..hope your gonna be alright.

I don't cram my belief down your throat...I don't agree with your belief or disbelief. I think your foolish and your not very wise...but I don't care either way what you do...Your not my kid (Thank God)!! However, you seem to think that it is OK to say that because I believe in God and go to church that there is something wrong with me. YOU are insulting, rude and close minded. If we sound a little angry about that well so be it...You will live your life while we live ours and guess what? WE believers are going to laugh last!!

For the same reason that when some random newspaper in Denmark excercizes its right to free speech and publishes some Mohammed cartoons, Muslim fanatics start burning more buildings: they're too obsessed with their religion to see the flaws that are so visible in it.
