I wonder why he quit? I mean, he's supposed to be the same Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow. In the OT he was wrathful and ready to pounce on anyone who sinned and would be quite happy to include their entire family in the punishment. In the NT, he's suddenly happy and loves everyone.

God doesn't smite anyone. That's an excuse given by humans.

Then again, in all honesty, if "smiting" is the way to get rid of child abusers, rapists, and crack dealers - that's good enough for me! May God reign and let the smiting begin.

Why do you worry about technical stuff? I know this strategy for I have used it in the past. I tried to make sense of everything that did not make sense so that I could justify my belief and point fingers. "why do you hold man's laws so dear, but deny those of G--" "Show love and compassion to each other. Only then, will people know that you are my disciples."
I don't make up stuff. Not, anymore. I try to simply speak from my heart. Before, I spoke from anger, animosity, jeolosy, greed, and who know many more. Now, I glorify G-- and only G-- through his wonderful son. The son, and my brother. You chose to believe it or not. It is your choice. G-- knows whether I tell the truth or not. I did not ask for this, or maybe I did, I just didn't expect it to be like this. Now, my goal is to share with anyone who wants to here it. I am new at this. I don't claim to be anything but a follower of G-- holding Jesus' hand.

no, but at least back then he showed himself to people... to FORCE people to believe... FREE WILL my butt... did these people freely allow him to smite them? or did he do it AGAINST their WILL? just like I have the FREE WILL to LIVE, unless someone FREELY WILLS to KILL ME! Way to go almighty, infallible God... just another mistake he made... almost as bad as not clarifying the Bible.
