hey you shouldn't worry.. if she's copying you, it means two things (99%):
1) she wants to feel she's still young like you - and doesn't wanna look "old-fashioned", the way most other mommies get called once their kids hit their teens. she still wants you to be proud of her, not embarrassed
2) she wants you to know she's your friend, your age (mentally) and like you....
and yeah, if you do really believe them, then maybe 1% chance she seriously has problems.
if your mum's looking awful trying to copy you, then you should try talking to her, subtly. tell her, when she does something which doesn't suit her, to try something else. no need to nasty or get irritated about it!!

She is mocking you. She wants you to see how 'silly' you are acting. She thinks you are immature which actually stems from her immature acting when she was a child. That statement was not meant to be sarcastic because I know how it feels to have a mom copy you except my mom copies my illness. For instance, if I tell her on Monday that my doctor said I have to have an mri done on my head because of the excruciating pain I am having, she will come to my house on Thursday complaining with a severe headache and that she is going to talk to the doctor about doing an mri to see what is wrong. I still haven't figured out why my mom does this.

My mum doesn't copy me. Maybe yours is insecure and feels like she is getting old. She probably wishes she were 17 again. Try to let her know that you love her the way she is and that she doesn't need to try to be just like you.

Maybe she wants to feel closer to you and thinks if she acts like you you'll see her as a friend rather than some distant grown up who has forgotten what it is like to be 17.

Imitation is the highest form of flattery!! Be proud of your mum for wanting to be like you. Wouldn't it be awful if you wanted to be like your mum??? hahahaha!

she may be looking for a way to connect to you... you are growing fast and will soon fly the nest i guess... have you thought of asking her outright? in a nice way of course!
Maybe she does not realise what she's doing!!!
