Definitely go with the 5.
I've used www.photo-freedom.com to create fun
photo gifts. If you ever take a brilliant photo that you
want to turn into a poster, the 5 will perform much
better. Also, as quickly as technology changes, you'll
want to buy the higher quality so it will last longer.
Go to: www.bizrate.com/digitalcameras
You can select up to 3 cameras and click "compare"
Hopefully that will make it easier for you to make a
choice.
Good Luck!

consider that any computer screen can only show images at 72 dpi. photos and print material are usually no less then 300dpi. having digital pix on the computer has nothing to do with megapixels, only the quality of the camera. the better quality camera usually means you'll get better pictures. megapixels will help in quality but not so much that you have to go and spend another $200+ for a higher amount. if your sticking with 5x7's more or less a 3.2 or even a 4 is sufficient. i have several friends that purchased 6 and 9 megapixels cameras ($700 and $800+ cameras). two things happened...ease of use went out the window because higher megapixels usually means more "pro photographer" features so if your not at that level stay with point and shoot, both friends (they dont know each other) went out and bought a $150-200 4 megapixel digital so they could take pictures easier and with less annoyance.

Given the cost these days of 5 megapix ... I would go for the 5. If you are going only going to print 5x7, the 3.2 is enough, but since you want to put it on the computer screen, go with the 5 ... you can't go wrong!

If you're thinking of even doing 5x7's, I'd still go with the 5 mp camera. Nikon has a 5.1 megapix Coolpix 5600 that is very affordable and easy to use. The pictures will be sharper on the pc screen too.

If you are making the decision because of finances, and are relatively certain you won't be printing anything larger than 5x7 you should be satisfied with a 3.2 megapixel camera. I purchased a 3 megapixel (Fuji) camera over three years ago and have been very satisfied with the output to both screen and print. Do some searching on-line to see ratings and satisfaction before you buy.

I would go with the 5. Might as well get the better megapixal now then later. I got the pocket series kodak easy share v550 and its awesome. This camera is very easy to use, quick flash and 3x zoom.

You should go with the 5. The megapixels don't only keep the image sharp when enlarging, it also defines the picture more. The larger the megapixels, the more amount of color will be on the picture, regardless the size you print it at. Your pictures will not be as dull as a 3.2 mp will print.
Hopes this helps you!

you should be fine with a 3.2. I had a 3.2, though I recently bought an 8, and it worked quite well for me. I made a 16x20 print of one of the pictures I took with it, and I had no problems with the resolution. However, if theres even the slightest chance of you wanted to do more than just basic picture-taking, I would suggest the 5.

Go for Canon powershot SD400 or SD500. My friends have these cameras, we use them all the time when we go out.. the picture quality is pretty good. And we have had those printed too. I think for your needs this is a perfect digital camera. You will get a SD500 for 250$ to 300$
BY the way you should defintly have a look at this list before buying http://reviews.cnet.com/4323-6530_7-6509037.html?tag=dir

go with the 5 it would make the pictures clearer in the background if you were viewing it on the computer & if you wanted to see something in the backround & tried to bring it closer + on your computer it would be clearer. there is nothing worse that trying to figure out whats going on in the back of you in a picture & trying to + it & all you see is jumbled pixals.
was that them kissing ? i don't know i can't see i got the 3.2?
o my god they were kissing look since i got the 5 i could + on the computer & you can see it too
& if the camera has zoom definitely the 5 you don't need any higher there's like 10's out there now
