God has been compared to a loving parent a number of times. I was just wondering. Perhaps I wasn't loved enough as a child, I just got the occasional spanking.

I love being SMOTE. Being smote turns me on.
Besides if you kids start acting up, just do what god tells you to do, sell them into slavery:

I got my butt tanned more than once. It didn't kill me. I've stayed out of jail, not done drugs, and have generally always been a helpful sort of person. Not disciplining a child is not doing them any favor in the long run. They do not learn consequences of incorrect actions. Children today (the entitlement generation) are perfect examples of it. They want everything and have not worked for anything. Why? Mommy and Daddy caved in to every request as a child. Now they feel that is the way life should be as an adult. PARENTS; SPANK your children. Teach them right from wrong! Be a PARENT not a Buddy. Prepare your children for REAL LIFE.

My parents never spanked me, and I (think) I turned out okay. Lol, I might have authority issues once and a while, but nothing serious. No wait, thats not true. My mom spanked me when I was three because I bit her on the butt at the Zoo. :D
And you don't have to spank a child to discipline them. There are plenty of other ways. Do you really want your child to grow up being afraid of their parents?

Thats what happens with everyone ...
When We do something wrng.. even God punishes us for that..
Parents spank us coz they r worried abt us... they are afraid if we wud understand what they mean.. and how they feel .. They dunno how to come up with it.. and sometimes this is the way.
They r humans too .. got the probs they cant share with us.. we need to give them space at times.
Now when we can understand.. instead of feelin the way u do.. go ahead n jst love them .. whats gone is gone .. dnt let ur remainin life go waste thinkin abt something that cant be changed..
The Bond between Parents and their Child is very unconditional ... this perhaps makes it much more difficult to understand it..

Nope. I have never been smited. Though it came close a couple of times. My parents prefered to take away all the things that brought me joy... TV, Phone, Stereo, Friends (groundings)... LOL

yeah, not much though.
The younger the kid, the more spoiled.
I'm the oldest, least spoil, so, I was the best, always doing what I was told. I was rarely ever spanked. (when I was, I deserved it.)
My youngest brother, is so spoiled, and his mouth is so fowl, that he deserves spanking.
Seriously, he hits me!
I pretend like it doesn't hurt, but sometimes, I wish that I was not as nice, so that I could hurt him back.
I have to admit, it's fun though.
He comes at me, and I wrestle back.
He's playing free-style to the death fighting, and I'm playing, no-punch, no-kick, no hurt, lock them with the least pain to them, wrestling.
I always win.
Yeah, we were spanked, but only when we deserved it.
I don't know if it helped long term, but short term, it definitely helped.

my dad like hated me and yelled and spanked me everyday, i got used to it
then one day I said "heck"

but if we said "loser""butthead""idiot"
we had to get our mouths washed out with soup or drink viniger

If you think the youngest are spoiled your wrong!!!I am the youngest and I was my dad's least favorite my two year older brother was his favorite, God!! was he spoiled he never got yelled at or anything
