With every religion you're going to get the fanatics, the word for word junkies and the idiots. Many Christians are good and tolerant and do indeed love their neighbor. I wish we'd see more of that on Yahoo Answers.

For the same reason other religions are intolerant of Christians. I am not sure what you mean by "intolerant". Some Christians will bash you at the tip of a hat, while others are extremely laid back, and say nothing or very little. I think it depends on the person.

Sounds to me like you have an intolerance of Christians. Your question is entriely prejudice and in any case represents a small minority of Christians. Show me any religion, that doesn't have at least one misguided follower who chooses to hate someone else because they are different. There will always be messed up people in every religion. Choose instead to look at what Christianity is abouit instead of what a few fanatics are doing. Because if we applied your view to everyone then Muslims for example would all be terrorists wouldn't they? That is a bunch of nonsense, who are you to pre-judge someone you've never met before!!!

Because their religion is very pointed about the fact that theirs is the only way to redemption and such. In fact, it goes so far as to say that the followers of other belief systems will be doomed to eternal torture. Short answer is that christians are intolerant because their god is intolerant.

People make this mistake all the time: they think that Christianity is the only worldview that is exclusive. I'd like to point out that ALL worldviews are exclusive; otherwise there would only be one worldview and Christianity. We can go with Islam, which thinks that everyone else is going to Hell and should be personally sent there. We can go with Buddhism and Hinduism, Hinduism being a response to Buddhism AND included a definitive caste system which oppresses even still today. And don't forget Shakhism, which was a response to both, even if only to exclude the exclusivists. Truth is quite exclusive. If you attempt to argue with me, you actually prove my point, since you would be asserting that you are right and I am wrong. Hope that helped.

The truth shall set you free. This is why. People are blinded into false religions or indoctinated into different occults. Jesus is the way. No other person in any other religion died for you. If you had a life saving drug that would cure cancer, would you keep it a secret? Would you let people die knowing you had the cure?

For the same reason other religions are intolerant...we are all humans.
This is an overgeneralized question, though.
I tolerate other religions. I also express my beliefs.

I'm a Christian and I'm a very open person to all beliefs and cultures.I love to meet other people from different backgrounds.
My best friend is Hindu.
The Lord said to be a fisher of men!!!
And that's means to love those you don't even know.
The problem with people today is that we are to harsh to each other.Where is the love!!! God loves us all so why can't we?
