To the GEEK DWIGHT.. I guess that's your BEST answer when you don't have one. Many 'in the know' are happy to divulge their knowledge, here in the proper format. Thanks to those of you that have. Its a great help.

They are both files used by Norton AV. Neither of them seem to be spyware or a virus, just proprietary code from Norton.

kidsister54, I think you got your answer on what those files were.

I did want to respond to the answer you received about using Google, though, because it's not quite right: the filetype feature of Google allows you to request results in a particular format, NOT determine what particular files are.

From Google: "If you prefer to see a particular set of results with a specific file type (for example, PDF links), simply type filetype:[extension] (for example, filetype:pdf) within the search box along with your search term(s)."

filetype simply acts as a filter for Google results; you must enter search terms along with the filetype request. Additionally, there is a limited set of 13 valid filetypes for which Google returns results, not any file type or filename. So, unfortunately, "filetype:CCAPP.EXE" is not a valid query and will not return any results.

Hope this clarifies.
