Anyone? It's just that when I try to explain to someone what it's like, they kinda get this blank look on there face. I have never met another kid my age (13) with migranes as severe as me.

I take Acetemenophin and Ibuprofen together when I get one. It used to help, but it's starting not to. Why is this?

I have suffered migrains since I was 12 now 35. I know what you are dealing with. My mother has never had a headache. She when i was younger, thought I was trying to get out of going to school, etc. She never took it seriously. Now, I think she feels bad. Good Luck to you.

I'm much older than you are but I can understand the frustration. I've had a migraine for about the 4th day in a row now. It's not so bad that I can't function but it is certainly painful and annoying. I don't like being in pain like this. Also, I'm more sensitive to light and loud sounds. I understand what you say when people get this blank look when you try to explain. It's not just a headache. It affects your other senses as well. Mine seems to be caused by rainy weather, which we've been having a lot of lately. In addition, the only thing I can take for the pain is Tylenol as I have colitis and cannot take anti-inflammatories which would help better.

When I was 12, there was a girl in my class who would get severe migraines and missed a lot of school. Some kids actually thought she was lucky to be off school. I didn't. I'd rather be somewhere I didn't want to be and be healthy rather than home in pain.

Poor baby. You are not alone, although it feels that way. Go to the national headache association website and you'll realize how widespread it is. Most people don't understand us. Some of us keep it a secret. I have seen mine deteriorate since my teen-age years till they are now, in my late forties, practically paralyzing me. I nevertheless had a pretty successful life. We're survivors. You may have more luck than me. There a lot of BS about it being your eyes, your sinuses, stress, your clinching your jaws, blah, blah, blah. Migraine is a disease/condition in and of itself. See a neurologist. If your migraines are not more frequent than three a month, they'll give you treatment such as Excedrin (because of the caffeine) or a Sumatriptan (Imitrex, Relpax), maybe both. If they're as frequent as one or more times a month, they should put you on a prophylactic (a med you take daily as a preventative). You'll need to experiment to find the one that works for you and of which you can tolerate the side effects. You should also keep a daily journal to note what you eat, when you sleep, what the weather was like, whether you went to a movie or spent time in front of TV/Computer, any detail, to help identify your triggers. It's too soon to start smoking pot. It's too risky a your age and causes its own problems. Good luck.

Do I feel alone.. yeah! I have migraines everyday. I'm taking a so many medications I don't remember the names. Plus my memory is horrible. I have more than just migraines, but in High School and Middle School I basically lost all my friends. Plus I had a spinal fusion. You know who's your friends and true family members. Some days I feel like, what can I do? I feel worthless. I can sleep a whole day. So sensative to light, sound, and some smells. Just a example. It's hard meeting guys when you can't talk about much but suffering and not being "normal". Many days I've had the shot like you guys had, but once in an IV with fluid it helped. The meds I'm on right now are helping.. and soon going to be doing physical therepy. So yah.. :(

I was that girl who missed school so much, people thought I was lucky.. than they thought I was faking.. so I was no longer a "friend'. I would rather be healthy anyday and do what they can.

Youre not alone. I have Multiple Sclerosis and migranes. The dr told me my migranes are 10 times as bad as normal migranes. He put me on Topomax twice a day and also Axert for when I have a headache. It does help. If the pain is not gone in 2 hours you take another. In most cases it is gone. I also have aromotherpy sashes that I heat in the microwave and lay on it and this has herbs that is made for mirgrane pain. It helps a lot to. I will get you the web site for this if you want it. I am on my boyfriends computers just email him back if you want that and he will let me know. I hope this helps and you feel better soon.

I would look in a totally different direction to get relief.

There is a one-time treatment Atlasprofilax that usually makes the migraine disappear - of course there is no guarantee.

I have experienced the amazing effects myself... :-)

Now, the treatment is available in California and Europe only, costing approx. 220 dollars. And it's worth to travel a far way to make the experience!

I cant say I feel the same way. But, the reason why the medicine you are taking isn't working for you anymore is because your body has become immune to the drugs.

I suffer from severe depression at times. Headaches follow. My condition would be inexplicable at that point.
A friend said it is bi-polar disorder. I feel like killing myself.
But I'm 23.
