Because no one seems to! Everyone always addresses non-believers (or not strong believers) as atheists. There IS a difference. And just so you know it:
An atheist is someone that denies that there is a God and believes solely in the evolution theory. They're not bad people, they just lost their faith along the way and no amount of insult is going to change their mind, it's just going to piss them off.
An agnostic is someone that doesn't really know what to believe. It's not that they don't think God exists or that God did anything, they just don't know. They believe that there COULD be some kind of higher power, but they don't contribute it to EVERYTHING. (i.e.: God created the world but didn't create Adam and Eve, didn't make the solar system the way it is, and didn't "teach" the moon or the tides anything. All that stuff just HAPPENED).
There. Now you know. So please try to respect others' beliefs. If you want them to respect yours, don't insult theirs.
Thank you :-)

Good answers so far, but some people aren't reading the whole question. But anyway, I'd just like to point out that I'm NOT here to insult ANY religion! I'm just here to try and defend the ones that get attacked in every religious post.
And by the way, atheists DON'T worship Satan because there's no proof of him either.
And about the Evolution theory, I didn't mean for it to sound like it's "mandatory" or anything, it's just most common because their not really any other strong theories of our existence. Some people just don't care though and don't really think about it. Like me. I know we're here now and that's all that matters.
**The point of this question was really just to try and make people a little more sympathetic to who they might be hurting by making such stereotypes and misjudged classifications.**

Mario Dorky Girl might be the stupidest person I've ever seen on here. Atheists are Satan worshipers? Really? That doesn't even make the slightest bit of sense.
By the way, I agree with you on everything but one point - atheist don't HAVE to believe in the theory of evolution. Most do. (Me for example.) But it isn't like it is mandatory. Atheists are skeptical about everything and though some might assume that every bit of evolution is true, there's always the possibility that some parts of the theory (or a particular study, what have you) might be incorrect or is being looked at wrong. Unfortunately, any time there is even the slightest doubt about something regarding evolution, the lunatic creationists (who have no theory, just whining about evolution and bad mythology) jump all over it, as if it were proof that evolution is completely wrong.
And that's my 2 cents.

I knew what the difference was, although I wouldn't say Athiests believe the Evolution theory. They just don't believe in God or some form of Super-Intelligent being that created the Universe and everything in it.
Agnostics are NOT sure what to beleive; they don't believe in God, but at the same time, they aren't sure whether or not there is a God.

whatup so dorky girl I hope you were making a joke cause although they don't believe in God and are essentially following the devil since they chose to not follow God doesn't mean they worship. But eh I can kinda see your point.
Oh and I'm sorry but creationists don't have flawed belief. Evolutionists believe creation to be wrong cause they can figure out how old everything, but they make one big mistake God is all powerful. You think you smarter then God? Besides Darwin himself believes in a heavenly power.

that website is talks about what people are doing to help show the problems with the evolution theory.

Agnostic simply way missing expertise (truly global proof) approximately *whatever*, regardless that within the context of faith it frequently refers to gods. (Greek: gnosis = expertise). So "an agnostic" might check with any one who has no expertise of any gods. It can chiefly check with having the stance that precise expertise is unimaginable, however frequently that is taken as a given so refers to "traditional" expertise i.e. founded on proof. Most men and women who're agnostic approximately gods are atheists, as loss of expertise frequently way loss of notion accordingly. Sometimes they specify that by means of "agnostic atheist" if the context warrants it. However, a few men and women will also be agnostic theists wherein they reckon gods do exist, although they have got no expertise of any. They are agnostic too, however now not atheists. So agnosticism is a stance on expertise, whilst atheism is a stance on notion.

Thank you. I don't believe in something unless there is non-contradictory proof of it's existence, thus God is not an issue at this moment in time. So I am regarded Atheist.
When it becomes a question (any shred of evidence), then I will become Agnostic.
I wish there was life after death, but that wish doesn't make it so.

Okay, heres the true answer
Agnostics, question the exsitance of God. They do believe in a higher being but they are constantly looking for truth.
Atheists believe there is no God. They have faith in nothing. They only believe in tangible evidence.

Atheiests do not believe in God or ANY other higher power(that would INCLUDE Satan). Agnostics are looking for proof. They won't just believe in any old thing. They want to experience it. So if they had tangible proof of God, they WOULD then concede that it exists.

Insulting my religion and others with all this "God doesnt exist!"
Well he does and scientist[and atheists] refuse to believe that there could possibly be someone in the universe smarter and with more power then them
They refuse do think that there is a God that could destroy them in an instant!
But when your sitting before the throne of God, I hope you had changed your ways
