Sueing would probably cause more pain and anguish. You might better spend the money on therapy.

That actually isn't a bad idea. I read recently that there was lawsuit pending in Europe against the church (Catholic, I believe, I heard this second hand so I don't know all the detail.) for promoting a false truth. Europe has similar laws against Holocaust denial, so legal speaking they might have some ground to stand on. They are basically saying that christianity is a giant pyramid scam that's been going on for 2000 years. I find it highly unlikely that such a lawsuit would work, but it is interesting.
As for your lawsuit, good luck. How much money do your parents have? Maybe I'll join in the class action lawsuit. Just kidding. I think you'd have to sue a church or some other organization if you wanted to see any results from such a lawsuit.

How has faith caused you pain & suffering? Parents (usually) do the best with what they have/know. And - hindsight being 20-20 it's easy to say "they should have known better." I don't know of anyone's parents who didn't make wrong decisions for their children. And that keeps the counseling industry very rich.

As to your lawsuit - it would generate a lot of debate on the subject of faith. If you are serious - try a lawyer in the pacific NW - religion bashing is considered by many to be "politically correct" here.

Some say the devil's greatest trick was convincing the world that he didn't exist. Well in today's society, worldwide, the devil has taken on a new face. The face of reason. He sees the doubt in the hearts of men, and rationalizes that doubt with reason. Your parents taught you to have faith because it is what they believed. You haven't been brainwashed into thinking a specific way. Faith in God doesn't directly cause any pain. Human nature is what causes pain. You may ask "Why God, have you forsaken me? Why won't you make these things better in my life?" and then shun him when you don't see any improvement. Look at it this way. Is it better for a parent to hover over their child at every move they make for the rest of their lives, or is it better for a parent to let the child scrape his knees when he falls off of a bike. The child learns that his own actions, not the actions of others, directly affect what happens in his own life. God chooses to let us learn from our own mistakes, no matter how harsh or debilitating they may be. As humans it is the only way we can learn. And as far as a class action law suit, the ludicrosity of it is laughable.

Grow up. If you and your parents disagree on this, sit down and discuss it AND "Agree to disagree". Parents (and you will be one some day) do the best they can. When you are born you are entrusted to them. You do not come with a book of instructions. We do not know what you will be like (we can only do our best) when you are of an age of reasoning. We do not know what will influence you and change your ways. Think about this a minute.

Do not SUE our parents for teaching you what works for them. When the time comes for you to leave home, pay your bills, you can chose your own path - Reason or Faith.....BUT to blame them or ANYBODY for doing what they thought was the right thing? I don't think so.

Also, thinnk about this. If you know what suinig means (or maybe you just need/want some headlines) it means you understand the implications, the process....so that means you should be able to understand the above.

Would you sue your parents would teaching you how to dress, how to tie your shoes, sending you to one school versus another? For taking you to Yosemite Park instead of your dream park (say Disney). For not giving you that doll you so wanted....

Where does it end.

Agree to disagree and get on with your life.

My answer for the masses:
Oh No! Religion is glorious and wonderful. It brings you life and joy. Just accept Jesus christ as your personal Lord and Savior and it will set you free. Amen!

My answer for myself:
Let's get that show on the road. I think we should sue them all as a whole. If for nothing else than false advertising.

Stop being stupid and get over it. Just because you stopped believing doesn't give you the right to sue your parents. Pain and suffering what joke.

You seem to forget, that they also fed, clothed and cared for you for many years!
What a very ungrateful thing to say!! I'm sure they taught you what they thought was right, because they love you!
One day you you're maybe going to have children of your own and guess what? You won't be a perfect parent yourself!

If you have the money you can sue anyone. Of course, winning your lawsuit is another question.

No way! You NEED faith in God to get into Heaven.

Have you ever seen a million bucks? But do you still believe in it? Exactly!

Faith is having the courage to believe in what you cannot see!
