This would not seem at first glance a very important set of values, but when you think about it, it covers a lot of ground. You should try to ensure that your children are well-mannered and well-spoken.
I'm not talking stiff and formal and high-falutin'. That would be the wrong way to be well-mannered and well-spoken.
People who have these skills get along with others well, and impress others as being capable and trustworthy. If the kids can develop these skills, they will get ahead in life much more easily in whatever field they end up choosing.
A person can be fine at what he does, but if he cannot present himself to others well, he will have a hard time.

Unconditional love and real equality. So often parents treat their children as possessions that they can treat any way they want. If you try to remember what it was like to be a child and what things really hurt you that your parents said or did you will obviously be a better parent. Always try to give more than you have received. Listen to your children and honor what they say. They are souls that live in bodies that we have co-created but they do not belong to us. I see my children as equal and have gained so much from being their parent in this life. I have learned things that with out them I may have missed.

I'm a 'child', but a 21-year old child. My parents gave me all their lives. They brought me up in morals of my religion (Islam) and culture. And they are open-minded in the same time. They helped me through school, university, and sure will in my post-graduate life. I see my parents marriage, and say: I absolutely want to start a family. So my parents gave me all they can and more.

The greatest gift my parents gave me was to model a relationship that weathered many storms.
If you're a Christian, model love for Jesus intwined with your love for eachother, and you probably can't go wrong!

We can show them love, as a family unit...
Then, the greatest gift of all, tell them about JESUS CRIST whom was Sacraficed for our Salvation!!
There is no better gift to give them, then an education in how CHRIST came and departed, and what HE preached, and how HIS miracles changed lives, and what JESUS gave up, for us.
No other love, is like the love of JESUS CHRIST.
I wish you well..
Jesse

The opportunity to know unconditional love. Whether that is from a relationship with God or just great parenting.
