yeah... wouldn't that be an accomplice after the fact or something?
that's weird. the parent is there to protect their child, not let them stay in a dangerous situation.

If the child told them about it and they just let it go, then yes they are just as responsible as the person who sexually abuse the child, and they could be in trouble for that cause the police and would say that they are not fit to be parents and they knew the situation and did nothing about it, then they child might be taken away from them.

In Canada it a crime punishable by law if you know of abuse and you do nothing. I think that this is a good way of making people accountable for their own actions as well as protection fo the victim. You can not feign ignorance when a child's well-being is at stake. Bite the bullet and report it.

They are responsible! If your parent, your caregiver, the person who gave you life just ignores something like this, they will be punished. They may be put in jail because of neglect, especially since they know about it. Whoever is being abused needs to talk to someone ASAP. The abused person needs to get out of that situation fast.

Yes. A child is the responsibility of their parents and they are not doing their jobs if they ignore it. They can be put in jail.

absolutely!! Without a doubt! It is the law to report any crimes, against a child or anyone. especially their own kid! anyone who doesn't report the abuse, sexual or otherwise, is just as guilty as the person doing the abuse! The parent may be scared of concequences, reporting, embarrasment, whatever...but that's still no excuse!

I n some countries, abuse of children is so popular but the law is not strong enough to protect children.
It is certainly illegal and who do that could be charged.
Parent who know sexual abuse of their child are responsible.
But I think the more important problem is that they don't have human conscience.

they should stop that person or do something about it. why would any parent want there kids 2 be hurt! I don't think they are responsible. the only way they are responsible is for themselves. so that they won' t get hurt. unless they are threatned or anything thing then i guess it is a little responisble. that's just what i think.
