Allie, it seems you can believe in Christ but still be an atheist, you've misunderstood something pure and simple here.

Jesus Christ was NOT a God...he was the son of God. I myself believe in God, Jesus and the Christian way of life, however, I do not believe everything written in the Bible. After all it was written by men with their own agendas.

It is a fact that Jesus Christ existed around 1st Century A.D. There isn't any well educated scholar who would dispute this fact. However, what is always questioned by secular historians is the evidence that proves his deity, but even in the Bible it shows that Jesus didn't want everyone to know he performed miracles. When he would heal someone, or do something miraculous he would always tell the person not to speak a word of it. Why? Because he wanted us to believe in faith. He is God, and even when he was on the Earth, his deity was still questioned. Faith holds more devotion then Fact, and he knew this. He wanted Christians to choose to follow him out of their own free will. If Jesus came down from heaven right now and spoke to all the earth then of course everyone would believe. Jesus wants us to decide on our own to follow him, but remember a life without God is a life lost into a dark and painful eternity. Did you know that the Bible speaks more of Hell in the Bible then it does about Heaven? It's because he wanted to show us what an eternity without him would be like and the reason why he chose to save us from that destiny.

Heck... I believe that the person of Jesus Christ existed, but that doesn't make me a Christian any more than believing the Pope exists makes me Catholic.

Christian means "belonging to Christ" - unless you believe that the man Jesus, son of Joseph, was the Christ/Messiah, you're not a Christian.

She's confused and others are too! You can't be an atheist and believe that Jesus even existed. Jesus and God are all in the same categories. No such thing as a christian atheist.

She is not a Christian, if she doesnt believe that
JESUS CHRIST is not her personal Saviour.

She could be one of many things, but one thing is, she is not "Saved".

You cannot be a Christian with out believeing that JESUS was the SON of GOD, and that HE is the CHRIST.

HE Died on the cross, was Burried and Resurected and ascended into Heaven for our Sins!

With out HIM, we would have no chance of Salvation. Maybe you can plant the seed, but the LORD is the one that will either accept her into Heaven by putting it into her heart to believe.

I wish you well..

Jesse

I think such people are called Agnostics or perhaps commonly known as Moslems. They believe that Jesus existed, he was a great prophet, and that's about it all. but the Christ means something else.. the title means annointed one and it connotes the jewish messiah that they were waiting for and who was really God made man

Im an atheist an I believe Jesus existed. I can understand where she is on about.
I dont believe he was a god or was resurrected. I believe he was a very wise man - just a man.

Ah..there's only one diety she should be believing in. She probably should reconsider believing the writing writen about Him.

Since I'm not God, I'm not going to say whether or not she can be "saved," but from my perspective (what I believe) if she's truly saved, God the Father will show her that Jesus is God!

You can not be a Christian if you are atheist. Period. If you don't believe that Jesus died for your sins and believe in Him with all your heart, mind, and soul, you are not a Christian.
