I always think that it doesn't matter what age a child for the first haircut, if they need it do it. With my 2 boys, I always trimmed their hair when it grows too long and they were about 5-6 months old when I did this. Just make sure that you are really careful, I would do it when they would be asleep so they would not move. But when they get older they can go to the salon. I found that if I did this early they were a lot easier to handle at the salon and weren't so scared.

I had to trim my lil boys hair when he was just 5 months old, coz his hair grew thick n long and had caused him great discomfort, as I could see all the rashes behind his ears! The strands behind the ears had left cuts in his soft baby skin and I simply cldnt adhere to traditional belief that I should wait until he was a year old. So, its just the convenience and need of it, rather than customary requirement.

Depends on how much hair he has but most people like to wait until 1 years old.

depends on what style you like....i got my sons hair cut before he was one and all it was, was a trim on the neck...i was so scared of them cutting it too short. If you like the look of long hair on a boy let it go a bit but i like my boy to look like a boy so as soon as it looks to long-chop it off!

Usually around his first birthday, to mark the milestone. Of course if he has more hair than his mom, I'd get his hair cut earlier.

depends on how long his hair, family traditions (my family says a year old) and if he will sit for the person doing the cutting
