What can a dog get into to cause runny poop? He is on Iams dog food, gets lots of water. We have not changed his diet and he gets daily exercise.

I don't think he is under any stress ~ we are just continuing life normally.

I just don't like cleaning dog poop off the walls every day ~ and I am getting frustrated.

Well, there are a few things that may be causing the runny stool... The most likely is intestinal worms. Something I would have checked out with your vet. Even if its not worms, runny stool can lead to dehydration, especially if the dog is young.

We fed our dogs Iams for a long time. But we recently switched to Pedigree. With the Iams, they were having runny stools & throwing up. Now they don't poop as much & aren't throwing up.

TAKE YOUR DOG TO THE VET!!!!! Especially if it's lasted more than 24 hours. I had a rot who had diarrhea practically her whole life. I passed it off as stress, eating dog food not puppy food (I had 3 other dogs plus her). At nine months old, no warning, she just died. I had an autopsy done on her and it was kidney damage. She actually died of blood poisoning. If you love your dog at all, don't hesitate to take her to the vet. Let them run tests to find the real cause. The only way a dog/cat can physically tell us they are sick is by diarrhea...so listen to your dog!

The walls? My Tzu had diarrhea about 2 weeks ago. I knew I had not changed food (which can cause it). Nothing was different. Then I found out my ma in law had been slipping food to her cause she was whining for it. Fried food! And corn. Maybe someone is treating the dog without you knowing it. OR...he could have eaten a bug or even picked up a stomach bug sniffing other dogs poo.

When your dog gets upset about difference in food, places you take him or any change in his life it will cause the runs. If you are looking for a way to clear it up just make some rice and hamberger and only feed that to him for about 2 days if it doesn't clear up then don't feed for 24 hrs. if it still doesn't clear up you would need to call your vet.

Take your dog to the vet. My dog had serious runs and I found out she had some type of worm. The vet gave her some meds and she was all better in a couple of days.
